Kahana, Valley Isle Resort, Spacious 4 BR, Beachfront, Sleeps 12
Summary:
Bring the whole group to Valley Isle Resort, an oceanfront condominium tower in Kahana on Maui's west coast, just below Kapalua, with a pool heated year-round, poolside barbecues and the beach steps from the grounds. Your reservation includes two private 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom condos: four bedrooms and four bathrooms in all, two full kitchens, two living rooms and two private lanais, in a resort known for front-row sunsets and winter whale watching.
What we guarantee: Both condos are always inside Valley Isle Resort. Unit A is a 2-bedroom condo and Unit B is a 2-bedroom condo, with exactly the beds listed below in every bedroom. Both condos have ocean views from the living room and lanai. Both homes are kept to the same quality standard, with finishes similar to what you see in these photos. If we ever could not deliver that, you would approve the alternative first or receive a full refund.
Bed types: Unit A - Master Bedroom: King; Bedroom 2: 2 Twin / Singles; Unit B - Master Bedroom: Queen; Bedroom 2: 2 Twin / Singles.
The 4 bedrooms sleep 8 guests at 2 per bedroom.
Unit A pairs a king primary bedroom with a second bedroom furnished with two twin beds. Unit B pairs a queen primary bedroom with a second bedroom with two twin beds. That mix makes this an easy fit for two families with kids, or for a group that wants the younger travelers split between the two homes. Each condo has its own fully equipped kitchen, living and dining area, two bathrooms and private lanai, so both halves of the group have room to cook, relax and keep their own schedules.
Good to know before you book: each condo has its own front door and its own entry details. Valley Isle has two elevators, free Wi-Fi and cable TV in the condos, and one free parking spot for guests with a car. The front desk is open Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5:30 PM and on weekends from 9 AM to 3:30 PM. There is a 4-night minimum, with check-in from 3 PM and check-out by 11 AM.
The Space:
Unit A (2BR): Unit A is a two-bedroom, two-bathroom condo with a living and dining area that opens onto a private lanai, the best seat in the house for sunsets over the ocean and, in winter, humpback whales breaching offshore. The primary bedroom has a king bed and the second bedroom has two twin beds. The fully equipped kitchen has a refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, cookware and dishes, so breakfasts before the beach and dinners at home are easy, and the condo has free Wi-Fi and cable TV.
Unit B (2BR): Unit B has the same practical layout, with a queen primary bedroom, a second bedroom with two twin beds, two bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen and a living and dining area that opens onto its own lanai. Free Wi-Fi and cable TV are included here too.
The resort: Valley Isle Resort is a twelve-story, hotel-zoned condominium with 120 individually owned condos in two connected buildings: the B building faces the ocean, and the A building faces the garden while still enjoying ocean views. From the lobby to the tropical landscaping and the oceanfront grounds, the resort is built around the water. The swimming pool is heated year-round and open daily from 8 AM to 10 PM, with chaise lounges for lazy afternoons, and the poolside barbecues come equipped with everything you need for a feast. Beach access leads straight to the sandy beaches that dot the Kahana coastline. In the evening, guests gather on their lanais as the conch shell is blown and the sun goes down, and from December through April the water fills with humpback whales breaching, slapping their tails and flapping their fins. Both condos are inside Valley Isle Resort, so the whole group shares the same pool, grills and beach. Booking two condos in the same resort rather than one large house gives a group the best of both: everyone gathers for meals, pool afternoons and sunsets, and then each family or couple has its own kitchen, living room and lanai to retreat to, so early risers and night owls never get in each other's way.
Guest Access:
Your reservation includes the private interiors of both condos, each with its own front door and its own entry details, plus the shared Valley Isle Resort amenities: the year-round heated swimming pool, the poolside barbecues, beach access, the lobby and the two elevators.
The Neighborhood:
Valley Isle Resort is in Kahana, nestled between Kapalua and Kaanapali. It has a Lahaina address but is about 15 minutes north of the area most people think of as Lahaina, and it sits in a walkable spot with a number of restaurants, bars and shops nearby.
Napili Bay, a popular cove beach just up the road, is considered a top spot for snorkeling and spotting green sea turtles. Kapalua, a little farther north, is home to world-class golf courses, pristine beaches and fine dining, along with the Kapalua Coastal Trail. Kaanapali Beach, one of the most popular beaches in West Maui, is about a 10- to 15-minute drive south, with numerous resorts, shops, restaurants, bars, golf courses and beach activities, including Whalers Village. Honolua Bay, famous for summer snorkeling and winter surf, is beyond Kapalua.
Winter is whale season on this coast, when thousands of humpback whales migrate to Maui's warm waters, and the sunsets from West Maui are among the best anywhere, almost daily. Summer brings calmer seas, long golden evenings and some of the year's best snorkeling conditions at Napili Bay, just up the road from the resort.
Getting Around:
Kahului Airport (OGG) is a 45- to 60-minute drive from Valley Isle Resort, and Kapalua Airport, which serves interisland flights, is a few minutes away. Most of West Maui's popular attractions, including Kaanapali Beach, are a 10- to 15-minute drive. A rental car is the easiest way to explore the island, and the resort offers one free parking spot for guests with a car. Restaurants, bars and shops are within walking distance of the resort. Rideshare operates on Maui, though pickups in West Maui are easiest to arrange in advance.
Other Things to Note:
Arrival instructions, entry details and parking information for both condos are provided with your reservation.
