  • This historic cottage was once home to Sam Houston Johnson, brother of Lynden Baines Johnson, 36th President of the United States. Distinctly appointed with country chic furnishings, you will find a luxurious king size bed in the master bedroom and a full size bed inthe second bedroom. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you will need; there is a coffee maker and a microwave. The dining room displays LBJ memorabilia and photos and has a large dinnig table with seating for up to 6. The living room has a stone stacked, wood
    burning fireplace and TV, as well as an amazingly comfortable sofa.

A quaint and historic stay! Host was very responsive and dealt with a couple of questions quickly for us. Excellent location within walking distance of downtown Johnson City and easy access to all wineries in the area.

Charming Cottage - Central Location for Johnson City

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the property. The rental is centrally located in Johnson City and there are numerous bars, restaurants and historic sites/museums within walking distance. Johnson City is a small town but is a great home base for all of the wonderful activities that TX Hill Country has to offer.

Nice historic home

The home itself is definitely historic, however we enjoyed all of the memorabilia and character. Homes location is great and easy to get to other places, check in process was easy. The beds are comfortable.

A lovely old home and was nice to spend the night at. Loved learning the history of the home as well. We went to Bryans on 290 for dinner and it was in walking distance from this home.

Wow! Gorgeous home. Reminded me of my grandma's house. All the comforts of home; cozy. Relatively quiet for being close to 290. Perfect getaway with the hubby. Hiked Pedernales Falls, enjoyed a hotdog from Fat Boy burgers, went back to the house and listened to music on the turntable. PERFECT!!

3 girls on a wine weekend! Our driver from Open Range Tours picked us up! It was wonderful. Then we walked to downtown to get some dinner. So many things within walking distance.

Disappointed

The house is so cute and in a great location, just seemed neglected and could use some updating. The yard was not mowed, trash bins were stuffed full, could not enjoy the outdoor spaces for the overgrowth. Beds were comfortable.
