The rooms are clean and ok. The location is great (15min walk to the center and very centrally located for the hikes) and there is always parking available. But there is lots of noice outside. People can smoke under the deck, so you have a constant smell of awful smoke. The bed is awful, we had back pains every day. The jacuzzi was broken and we chose this hotel because it had one. We already had other hotels where the jacuzzi was broken but then we could go to another hotel in de neighbourhood. This hotel didn’t had any solution. Normally the price was 733€ for 5 nights, which is way overpriced and now I see that they charged 749€ (??). Very disappointed stay, would not recommend!

Hello, I'm sorry that you are unhappy with your experience. I ensure you that our hotel is non-smoking, having only one designated area in the corner of the property and if informed we could have done something! We also have a sister property in town with an accessible hot tub that you would have been more than welcome to use if you had just informed us of that desire! The price difference you have noticed is due to provincial Alberta taxes and is stated on our website under our hotel policies.

Wir haben 3 Nächte in der Unterkunft verbracht. An zwei Nächten wurden später am Abend große Reisegruppen abgesetzt. Das Umparken der Busse mit dem Piepsen beim Rangieren kündigte schon an, dass gleich der Trubel losgeht. So kehrte immer erst spät Ruhe ein. Die Raumbeleuchtung war dunkel. Im hinteren Bereich gibt es nur sehr kleine Fensterluken. Den vorderen Bereich musste man für einen Sichtschutz immer abdunkeln. Positiv war der Innenpool und die Küche mit üblichem Zubehör.

Staff were very friendly and helpful, parking closeby to your hotel room. Our room was well supplied with toiletries, cutlery, plates, cups, etc. Woke up to a small herd of elk in the nearby park as well!

Don't let the exterior of the building discourage you. The bedrooms were well kept and clean. Staff were friendly and helpful during the check in process. Walls were extremely thin because we could hear our neighbour's running water and parking could be a bit tight. The lodge is close to lots of food options and supermarkets. Highly recommend for the price we paid.

The front office staff were very friendly. The room had an odor of cat pee. This motel was at the edge of the town so a little more walking to get to amenities. Didn't realize that our room had a fridge until the last day when we were leaving. It was hidden in the dresser. A heads up about that would have been nice.

This is an older hotel but in relatively good condition. It seemed clean but I was concerned there was no top sheet on the bed, only a bottom / fitted sheet and the duvet. I was told this is normal for this hotel and the staff strips the duvet cover when a guest checks out. (?) The refrigerator in my room did not work and no effort was made to fix or replace it. When I asked for a rate reduction due to this I was told since I booked through Expedia a discount could not be offered. I was offered a breakfast voucher but since I had already eaten and was departing that was of no value. This is the 2nd issue I've had with Expedia booking and probably will not use them again.

Maligne Lodge is excellent in cleanliness. The location is superb. Near shops yet very quiet. My only comment — there is no microwave in the room, though there is a note that guest could request one. We did not request for one as we are just staying a night. There is available microwave in front reception. We heat up our food beside the front desk while guest are checking-in. The guest can smelled adobo — the food we are heating. It is embarassing. In this case we suggest to put the communal microwave at the back, where the ice machine and vending machine are placed. This is to have some privacy while heating food and people checking in or out will not be disturb.
