I booked an accessible room three weeks in advance through Expedia, choosing the “pay at property” option they offered. After a brutal 9-hour drive from West Palm Beach, I arrived exhausted, only to be told—without warning—that my reservation was cancelled.
The excuse? “We don’t accept payment at the hotel.” Completely absurd, since that option was clearly given during booking. Then, to make things worse, the clerk claimed the motel was fully booked and refused to help at all.
So apparently: they cancel confirmed reservations, blame their own payment option, and magically have no rooms left.
My wife and I were left stranded as it got dark. Calling Expedia was useless—30 minutes wasted with a rep who did nothing. We had no choice but to find another motel at nearly double the price, just to survive the night.
The real insult? When I called Expedia again, a manager told me that same motel claimed my room was still available and they were “waiting for us.” That’s either incompetence or outright dishonesty—either way, unacceptable.
Yes, the charge was eventually cancelled, but I was stuck paying much more elsewhere, and no compensation ever came.
This was a complete failure on both sides. Zero accountability, zero professionalism. If you want peace of mind when traveling, stay far away from this place
