Cruise the water in a powerboat and head to the Withlacoochee River 30 minutes away. Parallel to the river is one of the best bike trails in Florida. The Withlacoochee state trail is 46 miles of paved roads offering beautiful rural landscape - as good as bike trails get! Check out Hampton’s Edge trailside bicycles for available rentals. Every third Friday of the month in downtown Inverness, enjoy Friday Night Thunder, where the Citrus Mopar Car Club hosts live music and a car cruise-in spectacle. Other events to look at for in Inverness are the Veteran’s Day Parade and the Grand Prix in November, and the Cooter Music Festival in October.

If waterfalls are what you're chasing, head 30 minutes north to Rainbow Springs State Park. Enjoy a walk to tiered waterfalls sprinkled amongst natural gardens to find the perfect picnic spot.
