'When i pulled up there were homeless people around the outside of the building. There's only 2 ways to get to the rooms and both stair cases are by the exit doors. No elevators. The room smelled musty and gross. The bathroom wasn't very clean and the towels need to be replaced. The bed was very comfortable and that was the best part of the entire room. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. I felt very unsafe and left to go to another hotel for the duration of my stay.'

'stayed for four nights and did not get any cleaning services or new towels. The papers they put on the counter say for longer stays they will go in for housekeeping on the third night but nothing was done. smelled like cigarettes every floor even though there are signs that smoking is not allowed.'

'I need a cheap place to stay for the Carmel Marathon and this served that purpose. But it is pretty basic. Outdated and there was a hole in the bathroom door and peeling cabinets. After some loudness around 10:30-11pm I had a good night's sleep. There was also a $2 utility charge and a $50 deposit which I don't recall being listed on Expedia. Budget motel that served its purpose.'

'The Holiday Inn Express did not meet our expectations and was the least pleasant Holiday Inn stay we've experienced. The online photos were misleading; in reality, the room interiors are quite outdated and do not reflect the images advertised. They only renovated the restroom in the lobby. At $161 per night before taxes, we felt the hotel was overpriced for what it offered.
