'It just wasn’t what I expected; a bit rundown, with stains on the wallpaper, curtains that were a bit worn out and didn’t blackout the room. Worst than that was the noise that came in from the street (even in my 15th floor room). It was really like the window was open, street noises all night long that kept me awake. Not up to the 5 star standard it claims to have. '

'The room was spacious, the bed was so comfortable, the room and hotel were spotless. The staff was wonderful and so helpful. We had a club room on the 19th floor and the lounge staff and experience for breakfast, afternoon tea and cocktails in the evening truly made our stay very comfortable. The location in Zhongshan was perfect for dept store shopping as well as shopping along the quaint lanes of Chi Feng St and Zhongshan Road.'

'Very convinient situated, this is a hostel with a lot of privacy! The capsules are quite big, you even have space to put some stuff in your capusule. You can close curtain for privacy, only downsite about that is that it can get quite warm because the airco can’t reach the capsule anymore. Staff is very helpfull and are willing to help. Breakfast was simple but sufficient. 2 min walk from Taipei main station.'

Q Square mall-- not exactly a tourist destination (there are many malls in Taipei) but it's a nice mall located close to Taipei Main station (Metro/MRT) if you're looking to escape the heat. Huge food courts here too with lots of options (and obviously shopping). This mall also has a movie theatre, which shows mostly American movies (but cheaper). It's also about a 10-15 walk to the historic Dihua street, one of the oldest areas of the city which was once the main market area (still lots of interesting shops there that cater to the local...good photo opps too with some older buildings)
