Flinders Cottage - Hobart

This restored cottage retains all the features of the era, fireplaces with mantles, solid timber doors, timber windows, high skirting boards and a sunny rear courtyard. The kitchen and conveniences have recently been re-built to add a touch of modern practicality without losing the overall charm of this wonderful building.

There is unlimited NBN via Wi Fi or plug direct into the router in the study nook with desk. The Smart TV is connected to the NBN so enjoy internet on the big screen or catch up your TV shows via apps such as NineNow, ABC iView, TenPlay or Plus7.

The cottage has an electronic door lock which will be programmed with a unique code for your stay. So no keys to worry about.

A pleasant and comfortable cottage with all necessary amenities. The steps up to the front door could be difficult for anyone with limited mobility, especially with heavy baggage. Though no on-site parking street parking nearby was ok.

Convenient and pleasant

The house is close to the Sandy Bay shops and restaurants and many of Hobart's iconic places. It has everything you need. For us, the bed was a little too firm but our son found the bed in the second bedroom very comfortable, so a matter of personal taste. The host was very accommodating.

Thanks for a great stay!

This cosy house has all you need, including electric blankets on the beds (much appreciated during Hobart's winter!) and a comfortable lounge room. There's a modern bathroom with an excellent shower, and there's a second toilet in the laundry out the back. It's about a 5-minute walk to Sandy Bay's shops and restaurants. The host is helpful and prompt and I'm already looking forward to my next stay.

Great stay, but room for improvement

Great cottage in a great location with lots of character. From first impressions the cleaning unfortunately was a bit of a let down. My partner who is a cleaner noticed that many things were missed in the living areas, including fat on the backsplash, mold in bathroom, moldy coffee in the jar, crumbs in the kitchen draws, dirty microwave and needed a decent vacuum. In our opinion the property needs a proper bond clean to bring this property up to a holiday home standard. There is so much potential to make this an even better holiday property if more attention to detail was taken with the cleaning as we would definitely stay again if the standard of cleaning was improved. Overall there are many positives about staying here including its close proximity to the city, restaurants, cafes and supermarkets. We really liked the comfy couches and the great little fireplace (Unfortunately no kindling and firewood is supplied). The heat pump works well too and if you like to cook this property has a modern fully serviced kitchen.

Comfy quiet cottage in great location

The house was all we expected for our stay in Hobart for the Wooden Boat Festival. Quiet neighborhood, beautifully clean, light and well appointed and an easy walk to Battery Point and Constitution Dock. The bus is two minutes walk if you want to catch public transport to the city.
