'This was the perfect reward for reaching Tsumago after hiking from Magome on the Nakasendo. Nestled deep among tall trees, this property felt like a hidden sanctuary with its open air onsen, welcoming staff, and superb dining.

'Everything was very clean and the staff were helpful in checking me in. I let them know in advance I would be late and they guided me. It was also useful to have a convenience store nearby.'

'The wonderful staff!'

'Interesting stay. Had fun lighting the fire and cooking our food over it.'
