Negatief: Netheid, personeel en service en staat van de accommodatie en faciliteiten
Our stay was severely impacted by multiple safety issues, and the lack of meaningful follow-through afterward was deeply disappointing.
Our room filled with electrical smoke from the air-conditioning unit. My wife and young daughter were present and became very distressed. I inhaled smoke while gathering our belongings, the smoke alarm did not activate, and our clothing and personal items were left smelling of smoke.
The hotel, Expedia, and Hilton Corporate all acknowledged the incident in writing, but after documenting it, each ultimately deferred responsibility or went silent without resolution. Although we were moved to another room, the stress and fear from the incident made it impossible to feel safe or enjoy the remainder of the stay. We were ultimately offered cookies as a gesture, which felt wildly inadequate given the seriousness of the situation.
Adding to the concern, the following morning I witnessed an electrical fire start in the blower of a children’s bouncy castle on the hotel grounds. I alerted staff so it could be extinguished. Fortunately, no children were inside at the time.
Staff were polite in the moment, but the overall experience, including the safety failures and lack of accountability afterward, fell far short of what we expected from a Hilton-branded property.
