Stylish House Close To The Beach

Villa Athena is located in Kato Gouves, inside a big olive grove and 10 minutes away from the beach. The property consists of a traditional villa, a stone studio, two apartments and two maisonettes. There are two identical maisonettes/houses next to each other, which you can rent together if you like. The size of the maisonette/house is 120 sq.m (1290 with a spacious outdoor area and a magnificent garden, full of colours, fragrances and local flora. The relaxing setting and view of the mountains and the sea, combined with the surrounding olive grove creates a tranquil and comfortable environment. The first floor of the house consists of one bedroom, with two single beds. On the first floor of the residence there is a big living room, dining room and kitchen, together with a bathroom and a fireplace. The living room has a big sofa (which can sleep an extra person if needed), an armchair, chairs and tables. The bathroom of the first floor has a bathtub and a shower. On the first floor, there is also a very big balcony with a marble table and chairs for the family and friends to gather around. The view from the balcony is unique, with view of the sea, the surroundings mountains and the olive groves. On the next floor is the master bedroom with a double bed and its own ensuite bathroom. The bathroom has a jacuzzi bathtub and a shower. The master bedroom has a fireplace and also its own big balcony. The balcony has a table, chairs and a sunbed, in order for the couple or the family to enjoy the magnificent view. All bedrooms have a closet, drawers and a LCD TV. The kitchen on the first floor has an oven, a fridge, a coffee machine, a dishwasher and all the necessary amenities of a modern kitchen. There is also a table with four chairs, where you can enjoy your meal. On the same floor, there is a small storage room with a laundry machine. The outdoors of the property is very scenic, with a big well preserved garden, a barbecue facility and a traditional stone-oven to prepare delicious meals. A lot of tables with colourful chairs and big sun umbrellas with sunbeds are there to help you relax under the Cretan sun. All this setting is surrounded by our family's century old olive grove, that gives the property a traditional Cretan touch. After all, Cretan olive oil is considered to be the best extra virgin olive oil in the world. The area is open and spacious, perfect for a family with children, in order for the kids to play and be close to nature's environment. Finally, the view towards the sea, the olive grove and the hills around is relaxing, while a walk towards the sea is 10 minutes away. The parking space of the property can easily fit up to five cars.

Tolle Unterkunft!

Das Objekt befindet sich in 20 Autominuten vom Flughafen Heraklion entfernt. Es liegt abgeschieden und ist damit sehr ruhig. Man sollte mit Auto unterwegs sein, aber an der Hauptstraße gibt es auch Busse in verschiedene Richtungen. Das Haus war sehr schön und auch unsere Betreuunung war sehr zuverlässig und immer bereit, uns zu helfen. Sehr zu empfehlen . .

Good, moderately well equipped, close to beach.

This is a well appointed apartment set in olive groves and overall was a very good experience. The kitchen was lacking a few key pieces of equipment for those of us who like to cook - no baking trays and only one oven proof dish, no potato peeler. There was no sun lounger but we really enjoyed the choice of terraces/verandahs. Shame that the main terrace was open to the terrace of the apartment adjacent which meant no privacy. The jacuzzi in upstairs bathroom was not working but we were not informed until our arrival. The villa is on the flight path for planes approaching the airport when the wind is northerly - the double glazing ensures a quiet night tho and the air conditioning was super quiet. But these were all small things and overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Essential to hire a car - villa a goodish walk from the irregular buses.

We loved the house!

The house was new, fresh, tastefully decorated and clean. Air conditioning was perfect and the Garden was beautiful. The only problem we had was the unreliable wifi. Emmanouela was our contact and she was extremely responsive and helpful at all times.

Superb experience!

We stayed in this house for over a week and it was beautiful. The whole building and the gardens are lovely and very well maintained. The house was well appointed with ample room for the two of us. It was very clean, there was plenty of hot water and the bed was comfortable. The view and the sunset were so relaxing. We cooked some and the kitchen had all the items we needed. Emmanuela was very helpful and attentive to our needs and we appreciated that. We enjoyed the little town in which the house is located. The property is in a good place to drive to other points on the island. We would definitely stay here again.
