Stole our money
A complete shocker. I made a booking at this hotel a month in advance, only to receive an email the morning of my stay letting me know they were fully booked. I was already in Hermanus and stranded. I have now been struggling to get a refund: Hotels.com confirmed the hotel took our funds, but the hotel denies this and won’t pay us back!!! We are out of pocket R3k and we did not even stay here. It is VERY sly and unethical - this is daylight robbery!

Toller Aufenthalt in Hermanus
Unser Aufenthalt im 7 on Marine war super. Die Gastgeberin und deren Personal sind sehr freundlich und bemüht. Unser Zimmer war modern, sauber und geräumig. Das Frühstück am Morgen wurde liebevoll hergerichtet und schmeckte sehr gut.

Gaynor and her staff were super welcoming despite the challenging conditions due to the disruptions because of the 100 year storm that just hit the area. The property was supposed to be closed, but due to Expedia being unable to inform us in time, we showed up unknowingly. Fortunately Gaynor welcomed us with open arms and provided us with everything we needed. The views are amazing (we spotted 4 whales from our bedroom window) especially at sunrise. Impeccable service and very conveniently located in between Hermanus center and Old Harbour (closer to Center). Just cross the street and walk the cliff path to see loads of Dassies and whales. Would give 6 stars if I could, will certainly visit again.

Lovely boutique hotel not too far from central Hermanus. We did not have a sea view from our room but the room itself was spacious with a great shower and bath.

Nous conseillons fortement cet hôtel.
Très bel hôtel à l'architecture moderne et à la décoration raffinée. Ce n'est pas une grosse structure, juste sur 2 niveaux. Nous avions une chambre au niveau 2 côté mer, et c'était tout simplement merveilleux : la vue sur la mer et les falaises était fantastique. Chambre spacieuse avec douche et baignoire, lit très confortable, très agréable balcon, cafetière Nespresso etc etc … Très bon petit déjeuner, personnel très professionnel. Nous n'avons pas utilisé le jacuzzi ni le sauna, mais ils étaient à disposition. Le centre d'Hermanus se trouve 2 minutes en voiture.

Die Unterkunft ist toll am Meer gelegen. Wir hatten ein Zimmer mit Meerblick gebucht, was leider bei unserer Ankunft nicht verfügbar war. Das war sehr ärgerlich. Man muss aber dazu sagen, dass wir kulanterweise am nächsten Tag das Zimmer mit Meerblick bekommen haben und die erste Nacht nicht zahlen mussten. Das Frühstück ist a la carte und besteht überwiegend aus deftigen Speisen. Insgesamt ist die Unterkunft zu empfehlen. Es lohnt sich aber das Zimmer mit Meerblick zu buchen!

Good location with a great view, clean room, great service, scrumptious breakfast service and safe parking and building. Everything you can ask for in Hermanus / Cape Town. It is within walking distance of Hermanus town centre (along Marine Drive), with a great sea view that let’s you see both sunrises and sunsets. We were staying in room 8 (3rd level I believe) and there was a comfortable bed, bath tub and showers with consistent temperature and pressure. The correspondence over email (or booking site) was always prompt, and Garth gave good recommendations to activities and restaurants in the area. There was also a really good breakfast menu which we would have savoured more if we didn’t have to rush off to a whale watching boat tour. The safe parking area behind a locked gate also should not be taken for granted since most other parking areas we saw were unsecured Only downsides (we are nitpicking here) are that the room light switches are not conveniently located, ie you have to turn off the lights near the door, then grope around in the dark to the bed. And the bedroom slippers make a loud squeaky noise when you walk on their tiles- they were really cold otherwise we would have gone barefeet. If we are ever back in this part of the world, will definitely be back!
