'A really lovely and well run hotel. I was more than pleased with the room and bathroom, had everything I needed. The breakfast was spot on, freshly made for the morning and loads to choose from. Id love to come back and bring dad to stay for a weekend.'

'Despite a lack of dedicated parking, the Parking is plentiful with an NCP directly opposite. Room and public areas are immaculate. The staff were very welcoming and the cooked breakfast was excellent, less so the continental choice.'

'Just a 5 minute walk into Shrewsbury centre. Ample parking in a quiet street. Check in process was simple. Room was very clean with lots of little extras, tea, coffee, water, snacks. Quirky interesting decor but clearly attention to detail throughout. Bathroom/shower very clean and comfy bed, slept right through. Would definitely recommend, 9/10.'

'Although the hotel facilities were good and the location was very central, our room was above the bar which was a club on Saturday night. The music was really loud till midnight. Although the web site mentioned that they had a DJ, we hadn't expected to be right above it.'

'Lovely hotel with a lot of history which was displayed around various walls at reception, If you don’t mind walking up various sets of stairs to get to your room (we were on level 1) you’ll be fine. There weren’t a lot of stairs but it was “walk up a couple then down a corridor, through a door and few more steps, another corridor and other door”. The floors creaked also but it was an old building so can’t complain. Free on site parking but be aware, pigeons live in the roof of the parking area...

'Room was okay but small. The mattress was amazingly comfortable albeit the wooden bed frame was a little creaky. The walls are paper thin and the doors closing and opening extremely noisy so not as restful a break as the location demands'

'I cannot fault the Queens at Horton. The room was clean and comfortable,the staff were friendly and helpful and the food was great.'

'Location was fine. Room was freezing. Instructions were incomplete so was unable to change mode to actually heat the space. Brekkie was adequate (comparing to numerous Premier Inns I have stayed in over the past 3 weeks of travel in the UK.'

'We had a very warm welcome from the friendly staff and were shown to the room which was clean and bright. The food that evening was excellent, and as it was a warm evening we spent a pleasant time sitting outside with our drinks afterwards. Continental breakfast was served promptly at 8 am and the addition of fresh strawberries and blueberries was a definite plus! Check in / check out was swift and efficient. 'Lovely clean room, excellent staff, great kitchen. BUT… green light in room not conducive to good sleep, and the fire alarm went off at midnight, after which the excitement seemed to evoke some guests to chat and laugh through the night until 3am, then the same group of four men woke up and continued their frivolities from 5:30am until they left just after 7am. Not the staff’s fault. But the sound proofing is poor.'
