A true gem in the Alps on the border of Slovenia, Austria and Italy.
Our place is located in the heart of the ski center beneath the Julian Alps in Kranjska gora. The location is quiet and in the immediate vicinity of the ski resort and cycling tracks. The house is located within walking distance from the centre, shops, ski slopes, etc. A bus station is located in front of the house.

The apartment is on the 1st floor of a newly built house in traditional Alpine chalet style. It is one of the most recent and higher-quality constructions in the area, featuring 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, open dining and living areas, 2 balconies and a private cellar, for a total 98 m2, plus a shared wellness and sauna area on the ground floor and a private parking spot. The apartment is independently heated and fully equipped in modern Alp style. From the balconies, you can enjoy a magnificent view to the Karavanke Mountains.

Kranjska Gora is the most important Slovenian and a world-renowned winter sports center with more than a hundred years of tradition. Kranjska Gora is a popular winter and summer tourist centre. It lies on the edge of the Triglav National Park, home to the snow-topped Julian Alps. Kranjska Gora and its surroundings are attractive to anyone wanting to enjoy wonderful countryside, as well as those who enjoy relaxation and entertainment alongside unforgettable sporting events. Sports enthusiasts can enjoy well-kept ski slopes and lengthy cross-country ski routes in the winter, while in summer cyclists and hikers are attracted by the peaceful mountains and valleys, streams and emerald rivers.
Whether you are a passionate skier or nature lover, Kranjska gora has something for everyone. Kranjska gora is most famous for its winter sports but is the heart of the valley in summer too. It offers many sport events and plenty of entertainment for all who enjoy sport, parties and fun. True romantics will find a peaceful retreat.

When Kranjska gora is covered with ice and snow, the winter fun can begin. Night slalom skiing awaits you under the sportlights, and the winter sun accompanies you during unforgettable mountain ascents. You can choose between 18 ski slopes. Ski lifts and ski runs stretch over the slopes of Vitranc from Kranjska gora to Planica at altitudes from 800m to 1,215m. The system of 6 chairlifts and 13 drag lifts takes you to your dream trail.

Kranjska gora is also an excellent starting point for hiking in the Julian Alps and Karavanke Mountains. In a word, the hiking in the area is unbelievable. The well-maintained trails take you to clean mountain lakes, fields of wildflowers and high mountain passes. You can hike for a mile or a hundred, but you must go for a walk in the woods.

The mountain biking opportunities in the area are numerous. There are 200km of cycling tracks around Kranjska gora. Aside from the highest mountain pass in Slovenia, Vršič, which will surely not escape serious bike lovers, there is a wonderful well-kept cycle path from Zgornja Radovna (where the Pocar homestead lies) to Gorje, via which you can visit Bled lake. One of Slovenia's few fully paved cycling paths runs the length of the valley from Jesenice to Rateče, passing Kranjska gora. Bike rental is available at numerous places in town, including sports shops.

Location

The apartment building is located in an extremely sunny location at the start of Kranjska Gora, with a view of the ski pistes. There is an aura of tranquility that will make your stay in Kranjska gora a special one. The centre of Kranjska Gora with its old town and the ski areas is less than a kilometre away. It is just a 15 minute walking distance from town's center, but a car will get you there in 3 minutes. It is literally steps away from the bike trail, that connects Kranjska Gora and Gozd Martuljek. It offers a lot of peacefulness and privacy for a perfect relaxation. Kranjska Gora and the surrounding tourist villages offer a rich array of tourist, sporting and cultural attractions. The nearest grocery store, a pizzeria and a restaurant serving local cuisine are 250 metres away. Hotel Spik with indoor swimming pool, spa and wellness centre is only 500 metres away. Bled 20 min, Ljubljana 1 h, Slovenian, Croatian and Italian coasts 2 h, Italy and Austria 10 min, Planica, Rateče, Mojstrana, and Gozd Martuljek woods 5 min. Distance to airport: Ljubljana 30 min, Klagenfurt 30 min.

The property

The house was built in 2010 with quality and design as paramount considerations. The architectural design of the apartment building reflects the traditional designs of Alpine architecture. Much of the facade is wood, and wood elements with modern designs also enhance the buildings interiors. The builders selected high quality materials, sought out modern design solutions, and integrated them into a whole that will please the most demanding leisure-seekers. The areas for socializing, relaxing, and recreation, including the sauna in the basement are particularly attractive features.

The building has four floors: basement, ground floor, first floor and attic. My apartment is on the 1st floor with two balconies measuring 16 m2 in total. The apartment has an external parking space and a private storage area in the basement measuring 14 m2. In the basement there are also 32 m2 of shared storage room, which you can use for storing your bikes or other sports equipment, like skis, ski boots, trolleys, etc.

The interior space of the apartment measures 69 m2 and is comprised of two comfortable bedrooms, a modern bathroom with tub, an impressively chic living room, and a well-equipped open plan kitchen that is perfect for any amateur chef looking to prepare a delicious meal! The place is very bright with lots of windows opening to the valley and mountains. After a great day of sightseeing, the balcony is a perfect and lush spot to reflect on the day while enjoying a cool drink in the afternoon sun.

The apt has been newly furnished with all brand new furniture and appliances in January 2018. The kitchen is fully equipped with ceramic cooktop, electric oven, refrigerator and freezer. There is a breakfast bar with two stools and a big dining table with 6 chairs to seat the whole family. The living room features stone lining on the walls and elegant curtains on the windows for additional atmosphere. Two comfortable couches and two armchairs provide plenty of seating and lounging space for family and friends to relax watching TV, surfing the internet or reading books. In the evening, the sofas turn into additional beds for extra sleeping capacity. The two bedrooms each have a double bed and one bedroom has a tall wardrobe to hang and store your clothes. The apartment has independent heating, which can be remote controlled and programmed through a cell phone so that the place is warm before your arrival. Upon each guest changeover, the apartment is professionally cleaned, the beds are made with new sheets and fresh towels await you. Towels and linen can additionally be changed at guests' request.

Wellness and Sauna

The rental price also includes access to a 60 m2 fully furnished wellness centre on the ground floor of the building with sauna, dressing room, a separate bathroom and a resting space. We are the only provider on the market offering such luxury amenities!

The wellness area for relaxation or socializing has a furnished dressing room and a furnished bathroom. There is also a big relaxation space. The highest quality sauna for six, made by the company SAVNE CEFUTA, has a special design that follows the design of wooden elements in the apartment building. The relaxation/wellness area will impress those who wish to relax after sports activities and also those who enjoy the tranquility of well-designed and comfortable environment.

Beautiful Modern Apartment
We enjoyed our 5 night stay. The place is spacious, quiet and clean. Very modern and beautiful. Nice views of Mount Triglav from the dining room table. Best of all it is easy to get to. No curvy or steep roads on the way there. Easy parking. Note: in Europe the first floor is referred to as the second floor in the US. There is a great paved bike path within 200 yards of the place. We used it for a walk into Krajska Gora. In Krajska Gora we rented ebikes from Bike Kekec and biked through Mojstrana and beyond by using the paved bike path. It was easy to get to the castle in Bled and other activities in Bled. We also found it to be a good location for hiking the Pokljuška Soteska Gorge and Pericnik Waterfall. We enjoyed our hike starting from Aljažev dom v Vratih. The views of Mount Triglav were great. We liked the hike in Soca along the Soca Pot trail, but the drive there takes a while. 50 hair pin turns built over 100 years ago make the drive interesting. We really like Slovenia and would recommend this rental and location for outdoor activities and small cities.
