As an avid traveler, I’ve stayed at many hotels, but unfortunately, Home2 Suites left my family and me disappointed. At first glance, the room seemed tidy. There were fresh towels, and beds were made. Yet, when we lay on the bed, the pillows smelled unpleasant, as if the pillowcases hadn’t been changed, it was the smell of head sweat and drool. We ended up checking each one, because there was no way, it was horrible! After calling the front desk, we were given replacements, but the experience left a very negative impression.
When we first complained about the pillows, the front desk offered to send maintenance to re-clean the room. At that point, we declined because we only wanted fresh pillows, but had we known the rest of the room wasn’t thoroughly cleaned, we may have considered it.
The shower had not been properly cleaned, there was dirt on the wall, hair, and food crumbs left in the kitchen area, including inside the microwave and fridge. Utensils were left wet in the dishwasher, and some still had food stuck on them. The desk and countertops had smudges on them, and the bathroom floor was sticky.
We thought about leaving for another hotel, but after a 10-hour drive, it was late and we were too exhausted to move.
On a positive note, the beds were comfortable, and breakfast was good. However, overall, the cleanliness issues made for a disappointing stay.
