'We loved the unique buildings and the beautiful, natural setting. The hot spring pools were a delight and had a beautiful outlook. The manager was incredibly helpful and he went out of his way to help us. It would be helpful to describe its location as we didn’t realised that Doho Lodge is situated 30 kms out of Awash. '

'There wasn't anything I didnt like. The view was amazing. The room was very good, everything worked. The staff was very very nice and accommodating. If there was anything I needed they tried very hard to get it. Excellent service. No safety issues. Good food and coffee. Free breakfast buffet.'

'The lodge is in a beautiful setting, the rooms were clean and with plenty of hot water and good water pressure. The staff are friendly and helpful. The local area is not particularly good, but a short tuk-tuk ride will take you into central Bahir Dar.'

'We had a very peaceful and pleasant stay. The gardens are large, lots if flowers, large trees, birds, and monkeys. The facilities need some maintenance and the trash should be picked up from the gardens. A great value and a nice refuge from Addis. Horses were fun and the staff were very helpful. The restaurant had good food.'

'I have traveled the world with my family, and HIGHLY recommend the Mayleko Lodge. I selected the lodge at random, and was glad I did. The service was incredible. The Hotel Manger paid personal visits to our room to ensure that we were doing well, and in one case noted we were late for breakfast, and offered to arrange room service so we would not miss our breakfast. The Hotel Manger also arranged sightseeing with a very knowledgeable local guide that my son and I very much enjoyed. The Food...

'Prachtige locatie, mooi uitzicht. Echt leven tussen de locals. Bijzondere ervaring. Mensen zijn heel gastvrij, goede verzorging. Geen voorzieningen van water en elektriciteit. Minder prettig was de kou. De enige mogelijkheid om warm te blijven is het vuur in een afgesloten ruimte. De hoogte gaf lichamelijke klachten.'

'FikirandRay is a relatively new hotel and offers comfort and quiet. It is a short walk from a restaurant with great views down the valley. The staff were very nice and helpful. Breakfast was simple but good. You need a guide to get around and bargain but prices tend to be somewhat set. Lalibela is well worth seeing, which you can do in two days, or most pf it in one day.'

"After a wonderful one week stay at El Sol Hotel back in February 2025, we were very thankful to return to this lovely local hotel in Addis. Booking our trip to Madagascar meant we had to change flights in Addis and we figured: why not do a 2-day stopover in this Great city and visit some friends? It felt really amazing to be back at El Sol, with the very dedicated team, all very kind people. It felt like returning home. We hope to be able to come back in the future for a third stay!
