The first 4.5 days of our stay were very nice. Very private and remote, yet close to town. Unfortunately, there was a storm that came through on day 5 and all power was lost, making the VRBO uninhabitable: no electricity, no running water, no toilets (for 5 people), no heat. We stayed over that night, but by morning there was no estimate of when power would be restored and we had to abandon the unit. We notified the owner and he sent us his sympathy. We stayed at a hotel for our last 2 nights, at my expense. (Additional expense: we ate our meals at restaurants rather than being able to cook the food we bought our vacation stay.) I submitted only our hotel receipts to the owner, with a request for reimbursement. He promised to reply, but has now ghosted me. This property needs a power generator.
