'The individual at the front desk was unpleasant and unhelpful to my wife on the morning of check out, and when I went down to fetch the items, she was in the same mood. Later in the morning at check out, her day had apparently not gotten any better with the progression of guests. On the high side, I enjoyed the use of the pool/hot tub area, but it did not appear to be cleaned overnight. I used the gym/work out space (they were quite strict about the time to go in), but again the place was not...

'The room was clean, the beds comfortable. We arrived just as the front desk clerk was leaving. She graciously stayed and checked us in. The desk is unmanned after 9 pm. Our key was under the mat for our room. It would have been nice if the air conditioning had been turned on. It was 90+ degrees and the room didn't cool down until early morning.'

'Pretty dirty was run down. The owner stays on the property but looks homeless. He is nice but super sketchy. He cleans the rooms. Goes through the trash cans just all over weird. I wouldn’t take kids here it was super unsafe. Not worth the money'

'I have always wanted to stay at the Ashland Springs Hotel, and this year decided to make it a birthday present to myself! I'm so glad I did! Very easy parking, plus really close to the festival. Loved the experience!'

'A lovely place to land. Beautiful Victorian with a garden to relax in. The room was so comfortable (even had a window seat) and the food was great. As was each member of the staff.'

'Great location to the Shakespeare Festival and downtown area. But this is an older, dark hotel with Motel 6 like rooms for well over $300/night. Just not a good quality to price ratio. Strongly suggest the hotel across the street which was about $120/night cheaper with much more light and was much newer'

'We always stay for five days at the Plaza Inn, and we like almost everything about it! Here are some very very easy breakfast ideas to break the monotony: hash browns with AND without cheese rather than just cheesy ones; egg frittata rather than scrambled only; oatmeal in addition to Cheerios and Raisin Bran; and plain yogurt rather than relentless vanilla. We love the location, beds, showers, and quiet. Thank you.'

'The room was very clean, something as a former maid I always look for. Staff was very helpful. We loved the soaps and staff was great about finding which particular soap brand used and even a store location for us. Motel was quiet at night and the beds were very comfortable. Kitchenette was perfect for our needs, we didn't plan to cook any meals but morning tea and coffee were much appreciated. 'There was no clean towels and had to ask for them a couple of times, the floor was filthy, there was leftovers in the frig, there was no ice and no telephone in the room to reach them when there was a party of teenager drinking and fighting with their mom there. We did call the non emergency Ashland phone number and they were amazing. They came right out and took care of the issue and the room was emptied. We won't be staying there again.'
