The Space:

Our charming home is the right choice for a group looking to enjoy a quintessential Cape Cod getaway. Return home from one of the area’s many bayside or ocean beaches, rinse off in the outdoor shower, whip up your favorite summer cocktail and sip it on either the back deck, or lovely three-season porch. Enjoy making meals in the large kitchen with tons of prep space. New floors have just been installed for this season. Unlike many Cape rentals, this home has comfortable beds that will be made with fresh linens upon your arrival, and great Game Room with adult size billiards table for hours of family fun. Explore the area by renting some bikes and hopping on the bike trail, taking a day trip to Provincetown, or enjoying the National Seashore. There’s so much to explore on the Outer Cape, and having this adorable cottage with room for 12 (plus the dog) to call home base will ensure you have a great vacation!

First up, the cons: The biggest issue we encountered was non of the information we received before arriving specifically in relation to the lock access codes and WiFi were correct and I had to call the helpline only to end up being asked to leave a message by the machine both times. The first time I received an immediate call back but the second time it took longer to get a call back. Also the photos are very outdated and the house is more worn down with the skylight in one of the bedroom looking like it was broken. Sound also travels a lot in the house meaning we had to be very quiet if people were still sleeping. The sole TV in the house is in the basement and is old and the streaming apps we were trying to use refused to show video due to the tv not having recording protection on it. PROS: The rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was well furnished and there was even a Brita filter in the fridge. There were also lots of appliances for us to use including a kettle, air fryer, toaster, coffee grinder and coffee machine to name a few. If you’re planning on making more home cooked meals versus eating out, this house is a solid pick. It’s also roomy so it had great spaces for people to just sit together and chat. The location is nice and quiet and right next to a bike trail so it would be a great pick for anyone who bikes.

Family wedding weekend

This property was perfect for our family to get ready for my brother’s wedding. The pool table was a fun addition to the property! Plenty of room for everyone to feel comfortable and happy. Ireland way is a gorgeous and quiet culdesac, so ideal for families! Can’t recommend this home enough!

Lower Eastham gem

Wonderful 4/3 on 3 levels in lower Eastham backing up to bike trail. Please note that there are quite a few stairs to enter any entrance. The sunshine is great on the raised porches! House was spotless and property manager responded quickly at all hours. Would definitely rent again.

Immaculate and Lovely

We had a wonderful few days in the house in Eastham. Right on the bike trail, which was one of our priorities. The house was very clean and comfortable. The weather was not in our favor, but we enjoyed relaxing indoors as well. All in all ... 5 stars all around.

Great week with some disappointments

I am really not one to leave a negative review - but I do want to give a realistic review of this house for people who are potential renters! Here are some pros and cons. Pros: Lovely location, right on the bike path, very convenient to ponds and bay beaches, quiet neighborhood. Great kitchen! Nice livingroom/dining area. Nice to have linens provided. Cons: The listing on VRBO said the house included access to tennis and pickle-ball courts, which was not true, as the owner had let her membership lapse. (Del Mar has since removed that from the ad.) Outdoor shower is literally underneath the deck at the basement level and is totally dark and grungy. The three season porch was missing screens (and one fell off upon our arrival and fell through a crack in the deck and down to the basement level!) so we didn't use it at all - it was too hot! Other than that, the house was in pretty run-down condition, considering how much it cost to rent. The pictures (as they tend to do) overstated the house. The good news: Del Mar Vacations was really great to work with. Christina helped us navigate the issues and was very accomcodating and friendly. Overall it was a great week with a few disappointments.
