'We had an amazing three night stay at Cathkun Cottage and that was undoubtedly due to Roger’s incredible warmth, hospitality and general helpfulness throughout. The setting is so peaceful, the accommodation clean and comfortable and the breakfast service excellent ! Roger was able to produce some amazing plant based breakfasts when he learnt we were vegan, and there was a wonderful atmosphere getting to know the other guests. You are made to feel so welcome that it is truly a home from home....

'Het hotel is prima... Maar als je in de avond ook wil blijven eten. Verwacht dan niet teveel! Fish and chips is een diepvries stukje vis wat even gefrituurd is... En de steak was doorbakken in plaats van medium. De qualiteit is gewoon slecht. '

'Het is behoorlijk afgelegen - je moet zo'n 30 km. buiten de "bewoonde wereld" rijden om er te komen (en via dezelfde weg terug). Het is nogal "kil" en ongezellig (misschien omdat er weinig mensen waren), maar het personeel was niet erg toeschietelijk of behulpzaam. De kamer (bungalow) was OK, maar was ook moeilijk bereikaar via een slecht grindpad. Voor alles moet apart betaald worden, dus niet echt een aanrader.'
