The host Alex is a great all around person. He greeted me and walked the property with me. In addition, he provided me with great information about the Dover Castle and how to reach it. The castle is conveniently located a 20 minute uphill walk from the house. Another great convenient item is the Train station is an easy 20 minute walk through the city center. I highly recommend the Church Hill House. Also, Alex cooks a great breakfast.

The owner/manager was exceptionally welcoming and helpful. The house is attractively decorated and comfortable. A guest house, fridges, kitchen/dining room, ( separate from breakfast room ) , sitting room, bookcase are all available.House is three floors, on hill to the very enjoyable Dover Castle.

Nice stay in Dover
We had a great stay. The building is well maintained and the decor was representative of the period that the building was built in. The host was friendly and helpful. They had a refrigerator in the sitting room next to our bedroom that we could use. They also had adapters in case you forgot to bring to convert your American plugs to fit British outlets. The location was excellent being close to downtown, restaurants and markets. It is also just a short walk uphill to Dover Castle.

Great place!
We stayed in the downstairs apartment with three beds - it was great for the three of us. Nicely decorated. Comfortable beds and linen. Great bathroom. Only downside was noise as we were in the substreet level and single panes windows. We also thought we were getting a cooked breakfast so we’re a wee bit disappointed to have to make our own with cereal, etc. this was my own fault as I neglected to read the fine print re the self contained apartment not getting breakfast. All in all, I’d stay there again in a minute! Great location!

Perfect stay!
Great spot and great location. The host, Alex, is super accommodating and welcoming. Got us a cab to the white cliffs. Rooms and bathrooms are very spacious. Within walking distance of everything. Only a 10-15 minute walk to the castle. Great restaurant 2 buildings away. The perfect stay!

Lovely guest home. Received communication from the host prior to arrival with instructions for accessing and request for taxi transportation on departure. Attractive exterior, easy access with the instructions provided, greeted by the host and shown the property- breakfast room, luggage storage, etc. Fabulous guest hose!

This was the cutest BnB. Property owner was so nice and very accommodating. The room was quaint and very clean. Breakfast was excellent! Loved our stay here.

Churchill House was wonderful.. nice ensuite w/ amenities including robes, etc. Breakfast was made to.. our omelet delicious, croissants baked fresh, fruit.. yum! Peaceful, restful stay ahead of a swim with lovely views from a little balcony thrown in. Very close to some amazing restaurants (Aspendos is my favourite) and close to the seafront for walking or swimming in my case.

Great choice for a stay in Dover!
Lovely BnB in a convenient downtown location. Room was very comfortable and spacious, with beautiful garden room feature. Bathroom is roomy and well appointed. Lots of extra touches....great attention to detail on amenities. Host is very attentive to guest needs, including recommendations for local activities, restaurants, etc.

Room (Winston) was spacious, chilled filtered water readily available, owner greeted us at the door, easy checkin, and good breakfast. This guesthouse was convenient for walking to the White Cliffs if Dover as well as the towne center. We even walked to the castle from here. The only downside was some street noise but overall i would recommend. Oh, forgot to mention you will have to climb stairs (2 levels for us)

I read the reviews before I booked and consequently chose the hotel. I agree with the reviews and perhaps underlining that Alex takes great care of you from the minute you arrive until you leave. It is a very pleasant atmosphere - well worth experiencing if you’re tired of the ‘sterile major hotel chains facilities-style ’. Greatly recommendable and definitely a place I will choose for a Dover return! As other guests have mentioned - please enjoy the home cooked breakfast by Alex - very enjoyable meal and pleasant experience indeed! Tore

12 out of 10 stars! Must-visit!
There are places which are nice to stay at when you go somewhere. But Churchil Guest House is so good, you want to make an excuse to go to Dover just to be able to stay there! Luckily, Dover Castle and the incredible beautiful White Cliffs are within walking distance - especially the cliffs are highly recommended! Alex is an incredible helpful and friendly host which helped me with sights, tips and wayfinding. When I arrived I was shown around at the guest house which is a Grade II listed Georgian period townhouse built in 1834 with very beautiful and well maintained interior. All the rooms have names: I stayed in Chartwell; a really nice, spatious single bed room with its own balcony and good view. There is free milk in the fridge, and Alex has made a really good guestbook with tips and advices on everything. The breakfast is another story. It's served in the hosts own residence one minute away and the day before you order what you would like. Churchill Guest House won a Breakfast Award in 2015 and not without reason. It was very delicious! The breakfast is a social experience as well with two serving times, and you eat and have a chat with other guests who want to eat at the same time. Very nice! I would love to come back. I don't remember the last time I've stayed at such a perfect place. Thank you so much!

Absolutely first class B&B which ideally situated for the Castle, port and town centre. Alex has thought of absolutely everything that you could possibly need, including decent coffee and fresh milk in central fridge. Breakfast is fantastic and reasonable special requests are accommodated. I've stayed in chain hotels in Dover in the past but never again while Churchill is in business!
