The Space:

Green Gables Studio is a private studio for two in Daylesford, with a corner spa bath and a deck that sits among the trees. Town is a walk of about 13 minutes. Spend the afternoon at the bathhouse, walk home, then fill the spa and take a glass of wine out to the deck.



The Space



The studio is one generous room under a high pitched ceiling, painted a deep forest green with timber-framed windows onto the garden. A grey two-seater sofa faces a soft wool rug. A round timber table with four cross-back chairs sits beside the kitchenette, and past the sofa sits the queen bed, with a lamp on each side.



The kitchenette covers breakfast and a simple dinner: a cooktop, air fryer, fridge with freezer, toaster, kettle, a Nespresso machine and the cooking basics, with wine glasses ready for a bottle from a local cellar door. A washing machine and dryer are in the studio.



A split system heats and cools the room, and two ceiling fans move the air on warm nights. A Smart TV, fast Wi-Fi and board games cover a wet afternoon. Self check-in with a smart lock means you arrive on your own timetable, and parking is free on site.



This booking is for the studio only. The pool and outdoor spa belong to Gables Bend, the two-bedroom house next door. Book the house and the studio together and a group of up to eight has both.



Sleeping Arrangements



The queen bed is made with premium linen, with extra pillows and blankets for cold nights. The bathroom opens off the main room through timber-framed glass doors. Inside is a corner spa bath with jets, a shower over the bath and a white vanity under a round timber mirror. Body wash, shampoo, conditioner, a hair dryer and hangers are supplied.



Work and Connectivity



Fast Wi-Fi and a dedicated workspace cover a few hours of email before the weekend starts. Long stays are welcome, and the washing machine and kitchenette make a week in Daylesford easy.



The Deck and Garden



Wide timber doors open from the main room onto a private deck with two woven leather armchairs and a small side table. The deck looks straight into the treetops, with sky above and green on every side. Below is a leafy garden. Pets are welcome, supervised, because the yard is not fully fenced.



The Neighbourhood



Daylesford town is 1.1 km away, a walk of about 13 minutes. On Vincent Street, Himalaya Bakery bakes organic sourdough and Koukla serves brunch inside Hotel Frangos. Cliffy's Emporium on Raglan Street is the place for lamb pies and local cheese. The Farmers Arms Hotel has fed locals for more than 165 years.



Lake Daylesford is ringed by the Peace Mile walk, with The Boathouse Restaurant on the water and Lake House on the far shore. Jubilee Lake is about 8 minutes by car and has boat hire and a walking track. Up the hill, Wombat Hill Botanic Gardens is an 18-minute walk. Climb the Pioneer Memorial Tower for the view, then stop at Wombat Hill House for coffee. The Convent Gallery holds seven galleries next door.
