'Staff friendly. Marketing for this hotel is deceptive. Room was very small double with en-suite. Old decor, tired looking. Old windows that were really drafty - so much so curtains moved constantly and could feel the draft when sat on the bed which was close to the window as room was that small. Shower was poor, difficult to use and poor pressure. Could not stay for inclusive breakfast as had to leave before started serving. Did not feel this was value for money.'

'Lovley clean room and bathroom. 2nd floor room with quite steep stairs, no lift so beware if you are not very agile! Room 6 is basically in the roof, OK in winter but would be very warm in summer and noisy with gulls around as overlooking the other rooftops. Toilet had a macerator which was noisy and didn't quite flush properly once or twice - wouldn't like that again! Loose dog in the hallway when I came back from walk- barking and growling so rang bell for owner to come out. It was owner's...

'There was a wedding party which I was advised before I arrived. The hotel called me to confirm this which I was happy with. They brought the evening meals to the room which was very enjoyable. I have no issues with this whatsoever. They kept me informed. '

'Lovely & very accommodating hosts & very good breakfasts. Room was spotless with king size bed, TV, sea views, plenty of storage space, compact ensuite, etc.
The on site parking requires some care from drivers, especially if you have a large car.
Town centre, pubs, railway station & beach all a short walk down the hill.'

'This is the the most wonderful place for an 'escape'. Miles from anywhere but in the middle of the most beautiful Devon countryside. The welcome was lovely, the room was superb - as was the breakfast - in all the perfect stay. The local pub in tremendous and do very nice food but you will need to drive, the walk back would be a challenge after a few.'
