Live in a historic building—near the Baltic Sea—Oats Apartment

The old Dassow granary was built in 1861 as a grain storage facility and served as a grain transshipment point for local farmers.
Its location right on the Stepenitz River, Lake Dassow, and the former inner-German border is unique. After German reunification, the historic building stood vacant for years and fell into disrepair. Its tilt is noticeable to anyone driving from Hamburg or Lübeck toward the Baltic Sea coast in the Klützer Winkel region.
In 2017, we began extensive renovation of the historic, protected granary. Nearly three years have passed since the start of the project—from the complex pile foundation work to the renovation to meet modern standards. Its striking tilt of 80 cm both inside and out makes it unique in northern Germany and contributes to the charm of the vacation apartments.

The vacation apartments have been available to our guests since Easter 2020. A total of 5 apartments are available in the building.
All apartments are duplexes spread over two levels. A staircase leads from the living area with an open kitchen to the sleeping area (open-concept with a loft).
The Hafer-3 apartment is designed for 2 people; an additional crib can be set up.

A large event space has been created on the first floor of the granary, which can be rented for private parties and other events.
When in use, this may occasionally result in higher noise levels in the apartments. A discount to compensate for this is already factored into the rent.

A bakery and café have been operating in the newly built annex since fall 2020.
