Eerste verdieping: open woonkamer met balkenplafond met dubbel futonbed (alleen voor alternatieve slaapplaatsen) / eetkamer met Velux-ramen, houten vloer en een compacte keuken in kombuisstijl met balken .. Elektriciteit, volledige centrale verwarming op gas, beddengoed en handdoeken inbegrepen. Freeview-tv. DVD. Stereo / CD. Magnetron. Wasdroger. Koelkastdiepvriezer. Wifi. Geen tuin Prive parkeerplaats voor 1 auto. Niet roken.. Dit prachtig verbouwde pand ligt in West Mersea, op slechts 20 meter van de zee en biedt een fantastisch uitzicht vanuit de woonkamer op de bovenverdieping. Stokers Loft is de ideale vakantiebestemming voor zeilliefhebbers, het publiek dat hard is voor rubberboten ligt op slechts een paar meter van de accommodatie. Het is ook gunstig gelegen voor twee gerenommeerde visrestaurants (de Company Shed en de Oyster Bar), lokale winkels en pubs. Mersea Island is het meest oostelijk bewoonde eiland in het Verenigd Koninkrijk en wordt bereikt door de Strood-causeway over te steken (mogelijk afgesneden voor korte periodes tijdens hoog- / springtij). Slechts 14 km van Colchester met zijn beroemde kasteel en dierentuin, is Mersea ook gunstig gelegen voor het verkennen van Dedham Vale, Stour Valley en Constable Country. Een uitstekende locatie om te wandelen, vogels kijken, zwemmen en fietsen, Mersea heeft een strand van zand en grind. Een country club met golf- en healthclub ligt op een klein eindje rijden. Winkel 75 meter, pubs 250 meter.

Property was exactly what we wanted, clean,everything you would need it you were inclined to cook and more, central to amazing seafood sheds and pubs, pet friendly and locals were people friendly ,owner was super helpful ,booked already for next year , that says it all

It was a quirky cottage in the lanes of West Mersea, really comfortable bed, clean bedding great shower, very well equipped kitchen, plenty warm too, but felt it could have done with a deep clean

Relaxing break

Quirky property that had all you need for your stay. Right on top of the waterfront bars and restaurants, lovely walks and plenty of sailing going on. Weather was unbelievable, lucky us! West Mersea is a great place to visit, very friendly and welcoming people.

Holiday was excellent.

Holiday was excellent. West Mersea is beautiful. Just a little more detail to cleanliness. A bistro table at the front would be perfect so we could sit outside. Restaurants just a walk away and food excellent.

Excellent Place with or without a Dog

You don't need to leave mersea Island as everything you need is close by and within walking distance. You can even walk around the whole Island if you want (16 miles). Essex Wildlife Trust Fingringhoe and Tollesbury Wick not very far away have some excellent walks also.

A small quirky upside down cottage perfect for a couple to get away from it all and enjoy a relaxing break. Lots of character and everything you need is provided. Park the car and forget it, just 15 minutes walk into town with pubs and restaurants on the way.

Stoker Loft is the perfect getaway cottage by the sea.

Stoker Loft is the perfect getaway cottage by the sea. We loved opening the loft doors and chatting to occasional passers by. Everyone in West Mersea is very friendly. Our dog had a great time too, plenty of opportunities to walk and play on the beach. Relaxed places to eat along the seafront, the local seafood is excellent and the sunsets are incredible. Would definitely recommend.

Perfect accommodation and location for exploring Mersea Island. Loved the quirkiness of Stokers Loft and the view of the boat yard. Everything you could need for a week away within the cottage and the bonus of great walks, amazing sunsets and exceptional seafood on the doorstep. We will definitely return!
