'Room was really clean and spacious. Child's bed was not substantial at all. Hot weather meant room was very hot as no A/C. Only 1 small fan available which wasn't effective for a large room. Staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. Spa was small but ok. Pool unavailable due to 'high levels' on last day of 2 nights. Didn't have breakfast there but menu looked ok. We had dinner on one of the nights and staff were great. Food arrive in good time. Quality was ok.'

'We have just had a lovely 4 night stay at the Cromwell Arms. Our Room was very spacious, the staff were very friendly and the food served in the evening in the restaurant was very good value. Great Breakfast A thoroughly enjoyable stay and would recommend'

'The staff were absolutely amazing. So friendly and talkative. The main building itself and the breakfasts we had were superb. The let down was the cleanliness of the room and bathroom. We found lots of dust and hair, plus mold around the window and on the bathroom tiles.'

'Staff were excellent. Breakfast was very good and service not too long. The only thing that lets the hotel down is some aspects of the rooms have not been very well maintained. Shower cubicle door hanging off, no cold water but scalding hot water in one of the rooms. Windows not fitting very well and can't be closed or opened. But only used as a base, so overall satisfactory.'

'Excellent location, next to a lovely park by the beach. Our room was spotless and we even had a little seating area outside our room. Lovely and quiet at night. Parking was the trickiest bit in terms of getting luggage to/from the car park (a 7-8 minute walk) but we'd only gone for a night so we were able to do it all in one go.'

'Room and bed comfortable, walk in shower, table top ironing board and iron were very useful prior to a family wedding. Green table cafe on site is really good. Also The White Hart provided hotel breakfasts. Staircases were a little fusty with an odd air freshener to compensate. Its an old listed building so to be expected but might smell fresher if the stair carpets were steam cleaned and better air fresheners. Beautfiul location. 'We stayed 2 nights. Good sized room/bathroom, cozy and very clean. Breakfast served at the table, good choice. We didn’t use the restaurant but it was fully booked the first night and the menu had a good choice. Within walking distance of the center and the ferry’s. Plenty of things to see and do in the area. Parking was free but a block away and at night we didn’t feel comfortable about leaving the car unattended. Your space is not booked, so on busy days you may have to wait around until a...

'Een oud hotel, redelijk qua netheid, laat in de middag rumoerig maar in de avond niet, verder goed geslapen. Ontbijt was goed maar niet bijzonder. Privé parkeerplaats, makkelijk bereikbaar. Ligging in het centrum. Tegenover gedineerd bij de Italiaan, was erg lekker.'

'Clean and quiet, very comfy bed. Staff were very friendly and helpful, even when I’d asked about a bowling club in Modbury that a family member used, the lovely bar staff said she’d find out for me. Fantastic full English with great sausages. Nothing seemed too much trouble Thanks for a great stay at a difficult time.'
