  • Beautiful house on the beach for rent near the village. The area is safe and fairly quiet with plenty of scenic views. The house is has air conditioning in every room as well as a big patio garden and parking space for two cars. Traditional older beach home ... super cool.. great location very friendly staff .. Rented the place to get out of the hustle of Santa Teresa .. stayed 3 nights.. Montezuma is still a laid back Costa Rican beach town

Perfect house at a dreamy place

Spending holiday only a few meters from the water on a wonderful beach in a beautiful house. The host is caring and we can really recommend this place for everyone who loves the sea and the beach.

The most magical place!

From the moment we booked this place we knew it would be great! The hosts were very communicative, kind and so helpful! This home had everything we needed and more! The location of this home was amazing and we enjoyed being right on the beach! We will definitely be back!

Great Stay!

We fell in love with the house and the location. The owners were very responsive should we need anything. The location can’t be beat. Right downtown and right on the beach. We can’t wait to come back!

Located directly on the beach south end of Montezuma- short walk to all services. Sound of the ocean lulls you to sleep, although there's a couple of places within earshot that will sometimes have louder music (not when we were there.)

Amazing time

Ivan’s house is exactly as described, little piece of heaven right in beach. In the middle of montezuma town. It’s hot in montezuma but the air conditioning worked wonderful. The sunsets and nearby restaurants were great.

Ivan’s House

Beautiful home right on the beach right next to Montezuma down town. We had a wonderful stay here waking up to the beach front seeing the sunrise and swimming in the amazingly warm Pacific Ocean. The host was great and we even got to meet Ivan. Thank you for our amazing stay in Montezuma at Ivan’s house!!

Unforgettable family experience

We had an amazing stay in Montezuma. Ivan’s House felt like a second home to us - it was perfectly located and had all the amenities we needed. It felt quaint and nostalgic, the perfect place to experience the culture of Montezuma. Francesca made our check in process very smooth and was very hospitable. Zuma Tour’s was very professional and helpful in booking our transportation needs and experiences. 5 star experience!

Calm and relaxing retreat

This unit we rented was very clean. The bountiful gardens was well taken care of and its flora attracted a variety of birds and butterflies. Max was an exceptional host and responded immediately to any needs that arose.

perfect spot

we loved this property, perfectly located on the beach, and just close enough to town. Francesca was great to work with, she started the stay the day before with a pin to tell us the exact location, she was there to greet us and show us the house, she set us up with the tortuga island tour. First class operation all the way. We Will Be Back.

PERFECT!

The location was excellent and the home was perfect. Just what you would hope for in an open air home on the beach with incredible sunrises and view of the water every morning! Convenient to walk to any store, restaurant or bar the small town has to offer. Can enjoy hearing some evening music from local outdoor areas, but not too loud. In comparison to Santa Teresa, Montezuma was a great quiet, less crowded beach and town to stay--glad we made this choice. Highly recommend it!

Such a wonderful place! Communication with Francesca and Giulia was easy and clear. The house is right on the beach and easy walk to shops (especially loved the fruit/vegetable stand almost across the street. Get up early at least once to watch the sunrise right out the door. Beach out front is calm for swimming so a little busy. Other more secluded places are within walking distance

One week in Montazuma

My friends and I had a great time at Ivan's place and in Montezuma. Waking up to the waves and a wonderful beach view every day was amazing. Ivan was very helpful and overall a great host. We used his tour company Zuma Tours, a couple of times for a boat trip and ziplining. The Zuma Tour staff were all very nice people and provided a great experience. The house is right in town so mornings tend to be somewhat noisy, but having such close access to town and the beach made it worth it for us.

Montezuma Weekend

Ivan’s house was just as described. You open the front gate and you’re on the beach. You don’t need a car if you want to hang around town or go to the beach. Stores and restaurants are a very short walking distance. Zuma tours is on the same property so tours are a no brainer if you want to book a trip to Tortuga island or something else fun. There is a hostel next door but we were pleasantly surprised by how little noise there was. The air conditioned bedrooms were much appreciated because it was very hot. We enjoyed drinking wine on the porch hammocks with the roar of the ocean and a stunning view.

Just what we were looking for

We wanted a beach house. That is exactly what we got. The house is very open and right next to the beach ( could walk barefoot to the ocean). It is rustic but very clean. AC in bedrooms was good except the upstairs bedroom struggled a bit with 118 degree heat index days. Owners were very responsive. If we ever return, we will certainly try to reserve this property again. It was relaxing, close to great restaurants, reasonable kitchen for cooking our own breakfasts and the beautiful beach was never crowded. Like I said, for what we were looking for it was perfect.

Beautiful View

Waking up to the sound of the ocean and being able to walk right onto the beach from the yard is wonderful. The staff at Zuma Tours are very nice and helpful. The house is within walking distance to restaurants, groceries, bars, shopping....pretty much whatever you may want/need. Being so close to everything, you can sometimes hear the goings on in town but it didn't bother us. We really enjoyed our stay at Ivan's House. Montezuma is a laid back beach town that is an excellent place to get away. We did a fishing trip and bioluminescence tour with Zuma Tours. They were amazing experiences! We got to see humpback whales, dolphins, and sea turtles on the fishing trip! Tortuga Island is beautiful and swimming in the bioluminescent water is so cool! I highly recommend booking a tour with Zuma Tours.

Central location

At first glance, the house is super cute. The patio and the views are stunning. I could (and did) sit on the patio for hours a day. It was clean when we checked in and the person who greeted us was great. It’s also very central to the little village (1 minute walk to restaurants and supermarket) and to Zuma tours for excursions. Downsides - the beach here is pretty littered. You can’t really tell from the gorgeous patio view, but when you leave the patio,it’s littered with driftwood and garbage. That’s not the fault of this vrbo or the host. There was also a person in a tent living 10 feet from our back door on the beach, which was odd and slightly disturbing. The host was available after check in and very nice. The WiFi was down during our stay. The place is largely open air which is magnificent for the views, but know that the kitchen has a monumental ant issue that makes it difficult to cook.

Great Stay in Montezuma

We loved our stay at Ivan's place! The house is steps from the ocean and the beach out front is a beautiful and lively scene. The house is walking distance from several other beaches where we saw capuchin monkeys swinging through the palms. There are some great restaurants very nearby where you can sip a cocktail and enjoy the panoramic views of the ocean.

Amazing location

The location is amazing. 1 minute walk from corner store / grocery store (has absolutely everything you may need (food, drink, sunscreen, etc) and all of the restaurants. The proximity to thr beach was the best.we found the water to be best in the morning (less waves and most blue /transparent). Can walk easily to the water falls (we did the trick with 3 young kids). Francesca was very helpful and easy to contact via whats app. Lots of backpackers because of hotels around (not a bad thing) and lots of young families. Overall we were extremely happy with our stay.

Montezuma experience

We had such a great time. The house is right on the beach and right next to the Montevuma's downtown area. We were actually more impressed with the house after we arrived. This house is amazing and unique and close to many of the local attractions. We loved this area because it is not a big tourist spot. We would love to come back sometime into he future to stay.

Many Good Things

The house is very cute. Bedrooms with air conditioning are comfortable, very nice updated bathrooms. Located right in the heart of the town. Kitchen was good though everything needed to be washed before use. Lots of tiny bugs on the counter. Open all the doors and shutters for a glorious breeze through the house in the morning and into the day. Beautiful ocean view and sounds. We lived sitting on the deck watching the waves and wildlife. Unfortunately there are no screens, so leaving the house open in the evening brings in lots of bugs. LOTS! Also, because it is located next to a youth hostel and across the beach from a bar and town square, it becomes very noisy at night and into the early morning hours. The constant pot smoke and noise were unpleasant. No way possible to fall asleep to the sounds of the ocean because you must close all the windows and doors and cab all hear the music. Early in the morning, 6am the workers at the tour business attached to the house begin to prep for the day which is also very noisy. We were woken up every day just after sunrise by lots of banging and loud voices. By 8am the tour busses arrive and the idling busses filled one bedroom with terrible fumes. Most of this is not the owners fault, but this was not the quiet, relaxing place we had hoped for. Now.... if you are into late nights at the bar and are a deep sleeper, this is the perfect place as you. Big enough for a large family or group of party people. Overall we were satisfied with what was provided and despite some issues with plumbing, they were very responsive.

Idilyc location

Great situation,just on the beach. Having said that, the resort is mainly poulated by backpackers. Restaurants are by enlarge simple and unsofisticated. If you share the house with friends or family,it's ery peasant to spend the evenings in the garden overlooking the beach ! Francesca is a great host ,with lots of useful info and tips.
