Pros:1. It is walking distance to the Cleveland Clinic.2. It is walking distance to a few restaurants/ cafes. Cons: 1. It is a reno that wasn't lived in to ensure it was a liveable stay: A. The solid wood door is crooked on the hinge; this means that it doesn't close without being shoved closed or lifted by the door handle, which is evident as the door handle literally fell apart in our hands. There is no deadbolt, leaving an unsafe feeling. B. The stove coils leave a chemically burning smell and smoke - the microwave fan doesn't lead to an external vent, so it blows right back into the apt. C. The windows are sealed shut, leaving no ventilation in the unit at all. 2. The location is in an old neighborhood, some houses are being upkept and some are not. There were a few individuals roaming the streets who were not of sober status. 3. There's clearly a rodent problem in the building - there are mouse clicking detractors through the unit. While it's better the rodents, the sounds are a bit unsettling if you're not used to it. It woke me a few times. 4. The flooring; The hosts ask for no shoes, but there was a nail raised that I hurt my foot in as well as some cuts on the floor boards that could have easily been injurious. 5. It's surface clean, but found hair clumps, cobwebs, corner dirt and grime, etc. 6. The bedroom door knob unlatches from the hinge, so I was locked in and out of the bedroom door. Terrifying. I'm out of characters, but there's more.
