The first night we were there we tried to call room service (hotel info indicated it was available 24 hours a day). I called 3 times and it kept going to voicemail. I finally called guest services and she reiterated that room service was available 24 hours a day… then said except between services. ?? Huh? We tried numerous times during our 3 day stay and never had anyone answer the phone. We ate 3 times in the dining room and breakfast was fine but the one dinner we had was awful. The food was salty with mushy vegetables. I can’t recommend dinner at the hotel. We ate elsewhere the other nights. The hotel is understaffed. The people who are there are dedicated but very few wait staff and those available were on a full run most of the time.
There was one elevator broken the whole time we were there. That meant the remaining one elevator was crowded and had a very long wait most of the time.
The carpet/area rugs in our suite (admiral suite) were filthy. Half of the lamp outlets didn’t work properly. Spider webs on the balconies and in outdoor areas seem to be an ongoing problem.
There were thankfully quite a number of restaurants within walking distance to the hotel since the only decent meals we seemed to get at the hotel were breakfasts.
It has a beautiful vista right on the St Lawrence and we had some relaxing hours watching what few cargo/container ships are still moving to and from Canada.
The location and dedicated staff is what saves this hotel.
