This property is extremely old and rundown. The quality and condition of the room was very poor and a musty old smell lingered in all the hotel hallways and odor greeted us when we entered the room. The carpets throughout the hotel and room are threadbare and bunched up or missing in many areas. There are chips and cracks on counters and in the sink in the bathroom and kitchen and mold and rusted areas in the shower and a very old dirty feel of the grout surrounding the tiles. The air conditioning does not regulate well for humidity and left a moistness in the air and sheets/towels. When it was turned down, the air in the room was stagnant and that unpleasant odor remained. The tub was not secure and moved when you were in it. There was no tissue box holder and quality of the paper products was poor. The breakfast was average, but did not having fresh fruit other than bananas.
The one excellent exception was the staff. They were extremely pleasant and helpful.
We travel to this area about 4 times a year and due to this experience we will not be staying at this property in the future. I am a loyal Marriott member and have become accustomed to a higher level of quality in their properties. This really turned us off.
