'Everyone was very nice and friendly. The breakfast was good; however, could have been better if there were pastries and actual scrambled eggs.'

'Nice place and walking distance to some restaurants.'

'MOLD. We are a family of 4 with one small child and a baby. When we were getting ready for bed, we discovered a large amount of mold on the ceiling. We notified the host who offered other accommodations that would require us to be split into different rooms. We opted for a refund and took the long journey home that same night. That was 2 months ago and still no refund. Location is good though'

'Location was ideal, was on the beach'

'We've been coming to Southport to visit family for 20 years and the Carriage House has always intrigued us but we've never stayed until now. It was absolutely wonderful. Amy was very friendly and knowledgeable and the facilities were amazing. I travel a lot and spend 30-45 days a year in hotels and this was one of my best experiences. I just wished we had more time to just stay at the Carriage House and enjoy it more, but we spent most of our time visiting family.'

'Enjoyable stay with helpful staff. Kind of tucked away but I liked that.'

'Very kind and helpful staff. Very clean and comfortable room. Enjoyed the breakfast options. Will plan to return here next time!'

'This was such a wonderful stay. The Beach House is so convenient to everything and just a walk across the street to the beach and pier. The Lazy Turtle is a perfect spot as well for a quick bite to eat or a delicious drink. The staff was so kind and helpful. We forgot our beach chairs and they have rentals that were incredibly reasonable so we could enjoy the day. They even loved on our sweet pup as well. We will definitely be back'

'We enjoyed being there and walking to the downtown restaurant and having the amenities on the property. There was clean and nice and self parking and protected area was also functional. The bar staff was very pleasant and suggesting a line for my wife and even giving us service rate prior to closing Front Desk was pleasant and efficient We did not eat there this time, but had once in the past'

'Room was clean and staff was amazing - the breakfast was ok but nothing to write home about!! The elevator was out when we checked out so had carry all the luggage down several floors'

'Great healthy breakfast, freshly made every morning. Beautiful boutique hotel with cool interior on great location'

'Just came off a 5 night trip where we stayed in 3 different Homewood Suites properties in different cities and this one was the best. However, it still had its issues. I was given a studio suite when I payed for and booked a true suite with a separate bedroom. They then sent me to THREE (3) different rooms and it was still a studio suite every time. On the final try, they finally got me into a one bedroom suite. Mind you I was dragging my toddler, cat, and luggage with me every time. They tried...

'Bigger water bottles maybe quart bottles should be given. The tap water made me a little sickly for a day.'

'The first time that I stayed at this hotel last year, everything was excellent. This time when I stayed for most of our stay, the water in the bathroom was not even hot. It was barely lukewarm. I told the staff member about the water not being hot, and she told me that maintenance left at twelve. Noon, on a saturday of all days. I don't know if I will use this hotel again. Cause no one likes to take a cold shower when it is cool outside.'
