SIZE ISN'T EVERYTHING
The property is certainly large, accommodating 10 people, however it was so far below the standard we expected that we had to leave after the first night.
Fiona said that she had not had any previous complaints and did come back to vacuum the property but it required a deep and thorough clean and a lot of maintenance to bring it up to an acceptable level ,especially during a pandemic when Covid-19 cleaning should be followed and evident.
Some issues involved very old cobwebs and dead flies throughout the house especially in the glass fronted lounge. Food crumbs and debris under the sofa cushions. Cobwebs and hair around and under the beds bases. Mould and damp on the walls and in the bathrooms. Broken toilet seats and one shower which was still to be fixed. Broken curtain rails and missing curtains/ blinds. Wire sticking out of the wall with no light attached. Broken bedside light. No DVD player as advertised.
I do not like writing bad reviews but as a holiday property owner myself I know what is expected and what should be provided in a holiday home with cleanliness and good maintenance being essential. We paid for the 1 nights accommodation and have had a partial refund but are still waiting for the remaining money.
