The former cowshed, where they do stay, is part of the same property. The cover picture shows the main barn because that's what you see when you arrive at the gate. It reassures guests, who can't see the cowshed clearly from the gate, that they've come to the right place. If you were in any doubt you could have asked but I should point out that if we were letting out the main barn (we wouldn't!) it would cost rather more than £115/ night! Best wishes, James

Thank you, Peter, for your review - and for staying at the barn. The main picture is indeed of the main barn, where my wife and I live, rather than the ex-cowshed, where guests stay. The listing makes this quite clear. The cowshed isn't visible until one's in the yard so, to reassure guests they have come to the right place, we show the building which they will see on arrival. I don't think anyone would seriously be misled into thinking they were staying in the main barn for £115/ night! We do try to be generous - smart TV etc - but there are limits! Best wishes, James

I'll look into that, though you know we're not blessed with lots of space in the kitchen/ diner! Aside from the small freezer compartment in the larder fridge there is an actual freezer which you could have used. I wish you had asked about it! I hope that didn't overly inconvenience your stay.

Thank you, Angela, for your kind observations. The sitting room is small - nothing we can do about that! Adding extra chairs on a permanent basis would likely make it feel cluttered to a single guest or a couple, from whom we also get regular bookings. Therefore we rely on guests who want four chairs to add an extra one or ask for our help (as you did). One size doesn't fit all situations! You mentioned having extra surfaces in the bedrooms and I'm looking into that. It could be achieved quite easily by removing the TVs, freeing up the tops of the chests of drawers, but having a TV in the bedrooms appeals to many guests! Best wishes, James

I'll admit to having been a bit nervous about how I'd find the cowshed after you left; those three large dogs spent a fair bit of time there, as the weather wasn't as fine as it ought to be in June.
