Sat close to the shore near the beautiful unspoilt coastal village of Flamborough, in the East Riding of Yorkshire, is the very pretty mid terraced Beacon Cottage. With views of both the sea and the lighthouse, this former coastguard’s cottage is ideally placed for a family of four or a group of friends to enjoy a coastal holiday. Step inside into the large open plan living area where the traditional wood burner and surrounding sofas take centre stage. Here you can snuggle up in front of the TV and watch your favourite holiday movie after a long day exploring the local area. The kitchen sits to the rear of the cottage and has lovely views across the golf course to the sea beyond. It is well appointed and offers a good range of cooking appliances and facilities so the chef in the group can cook up a delicious home cooked meal to be enjoyed at the large dining table. A separate toilet completes the ground floor accommodation.

To the first floor are two beautifully presented bedrooms consisting of one twin with stunning sea views and a double room with lighthouse views. The large house bathroom offers both a bath and a shower which is rather quirky with a step down into it and a stable door for modesty (head height is also limited if you are very tall!!).

The kitchen leads out to the enclosed patio and garden area with plenty of seating to sit out and enjoy the views – which are absolutely stunning. To the far end of the garden is a raised patio with additional seating providing the perfect setting for a refreshing evening drink.

The property sits mid-way between Flamborough Head’s working lighthouse (built in 1806) and the original Chalk Tower Lighthouse (built in 1669), with both lighthouses and Selwicks Bay beach within 350 metres of the front door. The pretty village of Flamborough is surrounded by towering chalk cliffs and miles of cliff top walks, it’s perfect for those who enjoy the great outdoors. If you love puffins then late May is the perfect time to visit! North Landing Beach is also within reach for an afternoon’s sun bathing or an evening stroll on the water’s edge. Within a short drive are the thriving seaside towns of Bridlington and Scarborough as well as the beautiful Yorkshire Wolds and North Yorkshire Moors National Park. Beacon Cottage is just perfect for your Yorkshire seaside holiday.
