We enjoyed our time in the area and the location of the house is great, especially being right on the water. However, there are a few things future guests should be aware of, particularly related to safety and the accuracy of the listing photos.The biggest concern is the lack of railings in a few areas. There are three steps down into the pool area with no railing, and another set of three steps leading down to the dock that also do not have a railing. For guests with mobility concerns, kids, or even just wet feet from the pool, this could easily become a safety issue. In addition, the ladder going from the dock into the water felt poorly secured and could use attention. Around the pool area, several of the stone pavers were also loose or sinking, with some sticking up unevenly, which creates an additional tripping hazard.Another safety concern involved the smoke and carbon monoxide detector in the hallway not workingThere were also a few maintenance items that didn’t match the expectations set by the listing photos. The garage door opener was not functioning, the blinds were difficult to operate, and some of the drapes had fairly large visible holes. None of these were deal-breakers, but they did give the impression that the property needs some upkeep.
