A couple of days prior to our arrival we received email communication with instructions for entering the apartment. Buzzer entry and lockbox codes worked fine but when we entered the apartment it was apparent that it had not been cleaned after the last guests. The bed was stripped, the couch and furniture were in disarray, there was garbage on the counter, and there were no towels. It was Easter Monday so of course the property office was closed. We messaged them through the VRBO app and have never heard back. VRBO was unhelpful as they also could only message the property agency. We eventually got through to the emergency number and a cleaner was sent to prepare the apartment. We had to vacate for an hour. When we returned it was in a much better state. The location is great, near shops, restaurants, and walkable to the Guggenheim. I’ve had other issues with property agencies on VRBO and this is the last time I will book an apartment managed through one. Payment was also not through VRBO which I did not like and I had issues making the payment. Our check-in was three weeks ago and I have never received any response to my correspondence or compensation from the property agency.
