Oorspronkelijk was het dorp Smithy, de woon / eetkamer is overspoeld met licht van de grote ramen die ook een geweldig uitzicht bieden over de Conwy-vallei. Deze rustige locatie biedt een fantastische plek om te ontspannen van de drukte van het dorp. Er zijn wandelingen vanaf de deur naar het Gwydir-bos en rond het Llyn Elsi-meer, of een wandeling langs de rivier langs de golfbaan en de 14e-eeuwse Sint-Michielskerk. Er zijn voldoende plekken om uit eten te gaan op slechts een korte loopafstand, geniet van een lokale cultuur door een Welsh koor te horen zingen in de Mariakerk, of als u een adrenalinekick nodig hebt, probeer de familievriendelijke boomtop op Zip World Fforest - of bezoek Surf Snowdonia, 's werelds eerste inlandse surfmeer. Strand 20 mijl. Winkel ¼ mijl, pub en restaurant 300 meter.

Wonderful stay

We loved staying at the Smithy Cottage, it is very comfortable, has everything you need and the huge living room windows looking across to a foresty hill was beautiful. Right in the edge of Betws y Coed, a really lovely village. Our hosts were very helpful and accommodating. Thank you for a great stay, we had an awesome holiday.

Perfect cottage for 2.

Perfect cottage for 2. Very spacious, comfy bed and sofas. Amazing view from the windows that the pictures dont do justice to. Owners are very pleasant and helpful left a bottle of wine as a welcome gift. I would definitely book this cottage again. It's just on the edge of the village in a lovely quite spot. Absolutely fantastic experience at Smithy cottage! Location is ideal as it's off the main road and very secluded. You have absolutely stunning view from the windows overlooling the mountains and can hear a small waterfall nearby. You have everythinh you need for a comfortable stay. The village itself is a hidden gem of North Wales with small local shops, nice pubs and restaurants. We will definitely come back next year and recommend to all our friends. Smithy Cottage was a comfortable delight.

Smithy Cottage was a comfortable delight. It was spotlessly clean, well-equipped and a real pleasure. We most liked the large, open-space dining/living area that opened into the kitchen. It had great high ceilings, wonderful light and one wall facing out over the valley was entirely glazed. When it worked, the wifi was very good, too. Our only niggle was that the wifi tended to cut out, sometimes for long periods of time. Parking was easy, too.

There were a few teething problems which were quickly sorted by John.

There were a few teething problems which were quickly sorted by John. There was one safety issue which was picked up by a friend who used to be in the business. The top window facing the A5 urgently needs a safety catch as the window is a floor level and opens straight out into a 4 storey drop onto concrete. We did not have to open the window so it didn't bother us. The overall view of the cottage was very good. And will not hesitate to stay there again.

The cottage is in an excellent location, 5 minutes from restaurants and shops on foot, but away from the bustle of Betws. The parking is really good, the owners came and introduced themselves and checked we had everything we needed before leaving us in peace for the week. The only 9 we gave was because there is no dishwasher (I hate washing up on holiday) but everything else is there. As walkers we like lots of hot water for showers and the bath, this is really good in the cottage. We tried to book again for August it’s that nice, but it’s also popular so we will be back next year.
