'We pre booked a 4 night stay and fully paid only to turn up for check in and the hotel was closed for renovations. We had to stay somewhere else. The owner claimed he didn’t have our booking on his system but we had confirmation etc.'

'Good resort, very clean, nice setting. Staff is lovely, their travel desk can be a bit pushy in offering only their tours (Pele island didn't exist because they didn't offer a tour to it for instance...).
Thing to improve is the breakfast. Pancakes, canned fruit, Vegemite and some very dry pastries and that was it. Anything else had to be paid for.'

'The property was amazing has everything that we needed the fine dinning the bar the casino and was close to everything just a walking distance only down fall was that people was smoking inside the casino it was a shocking for us cause in Brisbane no one allow to smoke inside the games area only outside at a smoke area
Otherwise we had the best time

'This is an excellent resort for relaxing. We had a ocean front villa and loved it. It is worth the additional cost to be on the ocean as the second row does not have a view. ALso, it is fun to walk the long white sand beach at low tide and see all of the coral exposed and the fun aquatic life living in the pools. The staff was lovely, happy and helpful. A driver was arranged for us to tour the island and we recommend that. There are a lot of families so if you are not into kids in the...

'Barrier Beach is an amazingly beautiful resort,all the staff from arrival till departure were fantastic,friendly and always smiling .Our room was right at waters edge (Fare11) Comfy bed sparkling clean bathroom which was serviced every day ,the ladies do a fantastic job!!Restraunt meals superb with different daily specials,breakfast is table service with a good menu ,We utilised the day spa having massages ,body scrubs with my partner and lots of laughs with the 2 ladies .Very helpful when...
