'Very comfortable to stay'

'Our stay at Guesthouse Koundo was excellent. It’s a beautiful home located, in our opinion, in the best spot in Nikko as it is easy to walk to the popular areas as well as catch the bus to go up to the mountain. There are also wonderful neighborhood restaurants to try within walking distance. It’s in a quiet neighborhood surrounded by beautiful nature. We were kindly allowed to leave our bags early, which was a great help because we had a lot of luggage. The home is kept in pristine condition,...

'This property was beautiful, I wish I could have stayed longer. Great kitchen, spa room with bath, everything you needed and everything felt brand new. Location was a bit out of town and was either a bus, taxi or a long walk uphill. This was my favorite property in Japan. I would definitely stay longer next time. '

'The room itself was very nice, and it worked well for our family of 4. Everything is new, and the space is stylishly designed, which is sometimes hard to find in smaller towns in Japan. The challenge is the property is a 10-15 minute walk, along a main road, to any restaurant or cafe, etc. There's a 7-11 nearby, but apart from that, you're alongside a busy road and a highway off-ramp ... and not much else. If you have a car, this is no issue. But for us, with two young kids, and of course...
