'What an absolute gem. From the second you're greeted off the plane by the team who help you on the boat to the island until the moment you leave, everyone is super friendly including the dogs! Comfy giant beds, powerful showers, refreshing pool with lots of shady lounging spots, gorgeous vistas, delicious food, punchy cocktails and a long stretch of pristine beach. Great location for day trips or just unwinding on site. We will be back.'

'beautiful place to stay! we got an upgrade to a room with sea view since there were little people in the hotel at that time. This room was supernice. The staff was also very nice and very helpful. The complimentary breakfast was very good - good coffee, eggs, pancakes, juices,... The pool (and definitely the two little pools) was a bit dirty at times but that did not keep us from enjoying the very beautiful outdoor space! We did not have dinner in the restaurant since that was a bit expensive to...

'Kizingo Eco Lodge lived up exactly to what we were looking for: a totally off-the-beaten track eco lodge (consisting of 8 'banda' straw guest bungaloes), well away from the hustle and bustle of Lamu Town and Shela. Its location could not be more perfect: one corner of the lodge faces the Indian Ocean, while the other faces the river/mangrove area (which also boasts the nicest sunsets in all of Lamu). 'I reserved and paid back in October. When we arrived on Jan 11 -- we were told that our reservation was cancelled. In fact they were hosting a wedding - and cancelled our reservation without any warning. They proposed a disgusting replacement hotel (one-star backpacker hotel) which was 30€ per night rather than the 90€ per night we paid. We wasted 2 hours of limited time in beautiful Lamu. They refused to reimburse us and refused to send an email confirming that they cancelled a paid reservation...

'The owner of the Hotel pretended not to have any business relations with this site. Even though i have paid the full amount, they charged me more and i had to pay them directly, in order to have my room. Confrontation and a stressful experience, with not much support from the management staff. Hotel is not very clean, but a basic breakfast was served.'
