'My friend and I had a great stay here. The property feels very isolated but still close enough to "civilization" for you to pick up what you need, forgot, or ran out of during your trip. We went to a local gas station got extra ice and water and were back in about an hour. We did have a few encounters with wildlife (I'm no expert but one seemed like a bobcat which followed us while we were walking the puppy in the early morning, and the other looked like a wolf which kept its distance but...

'Overall an excellent stay. The decor is dated, but it is clean and the beds are super comfortable. There was a sign at the front desk that the hotel will be updated sometime in 2026.'

'Do not eat at the Nietos Mexican Restaurant next door. All I ordered was queso and chips. Queso was vivid orange like cheeze whip, lumpy and got cold quickly. The chips are not fresh. Malakoff is just down the road.... The front desk clerk was nice but got impatient because I don't hear well and she had to repeat a lot. Those sconce lights are really bright. Could use a dimmer option. Overall, my stay was good. I would stay there again.'

'The owner was very nice and responsive. We had an emergency and didn’t get to stay. We did notice that the pool wasn’t ready yet and I think we were the first ones to rent for this season and the bathroom wasn’t very fresh or clean. '

'Our pup loved the fenced in backyard. The property backs up to the woods, so we saw deer every morning. The neighborhood was a little run down but quiet. It’s a short drive to the lake. It was pretty clean, but it is a lake house that backs up to the woods. So, you shouldn’t expect spotless outside— lots of spiderwebs and dust. We were easily able to use the kitchen to cook. All the utensils were there, and they even provided some coffee. My one suggestion for improvement would be cleaning up...
