'Awesome view watching a ship being loaded with NZ Radiata pine and also watching the kayaks and canoes racing. Room was clean and the service was excellent. Coffee machine on the first floor provided daily flat whites.'

'From arrival to departure we were very impressed with our treatment and the accommodation pod we had booked. There are only cafe facilities at the weekend therefore the need to travel for food and drink was unavoidable but it is only a short drive into Gisborne. The beaches close by are a surfers paradise so would certainly suit the adventurous person, though not myself. An all round excellent stay. '

'I booked the Verandah at Gisborne for myself and family to stay in for my wedding and the house was incredible and charming! Lots of space and bedrooms for a family and a nice large backyard and deck to relax and enjoy a meal. Comfortable beds and gorgous lounge. Highly recommend any family to stay here! Kathy has been great and responsive to any enquiries. We throughly enjoy our stay in Gisborne at the Verandah!'

'Unique stay on winery property. Room was immaculate. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We were able to do a wine tasting and charcuterie even as the cellar door was closed during our stay. Super peaceful and a great place to unwind and relax.'

'Beautiful house in a beautiful rural setting, so peaceful, we were sorry it was only one night. Outdoor shower is a must. Sally and Simon were superb hosts, super helpful and friendly. Sally's homemade treat was very much appreciated and we had a lovely walk around the farm, meeting the lovely dogs. Would highly recommend staying at this piece of paradise.'

'The setup was perfect for us, no problems, suited us well.The bookabach platform pretty much sucks though, I would not have been able to communicate with the owner at all if I had not got creative and found their contact independently - I would use bookabach again only as a desperate act of last resort.
