Devanahalli Fort is located 35 kilometers (22 mi) north of Bangalore city, at Devanahalli in the State of Karnataka, India.[1]

It was originally built in 1501 by Mallabairegowda,[1][2][3][4] which remained in the hands of his descendants until the mid–eighteenth century. In 1749, the then Dalwai of Mysore, Nanjarajaiah, attacked the fort and occupied it. Later, the fort passed into the hands of Hyder Ali and subsequently Tipu Sultan.[2] In 1791, Lord Cornwallis laid siege to the fort and took possession during the Anglo-Mysore War.

The birthplace of Tipu Sultan, also known as Tiger of Mysore, is located near to the fort.[5] The fort is situated on the side of National Highway 7, near the Bengaluru International Airport.

« pathetic maintenance. Looks like they dont care and the management doesnt seem to bother. following were unacceptable conditions in the room. 1. The kettle was missing the spout and when i tried to pour hot water into the cup it spilled all over. 2. the hair blower was burnt out (i guess) as it was not working. 3. "Everything was fine. The restaurants inside the hotel are very good. The Quattro is the restaurant where you can order pizzas among many good dishes. The pizzas are prepared on the Neapolitan style (round pizza typically prepared in the Italian city of Naples and characterised by a soft, thin dough with high edges and fresh toppings). They are really good, probably best pizzas in town."

The taxi service was a bit pricey but flawless: Devaraj, the driver who accompanied me throughout my stay, was punctual, professional, and very helpful. I highly recommend specifically requesting him as driver."
