'This place has so much potential. It's a beautiful old building that is kept clean, but could use some refreshing touches. Lots of nice woodwork and furniture. Bed was very comfortable. Bathroom small, but clean and cute. Quiet atmosphere even for a main street hotel. No sign of a bar or restaurant. Breakfast? We quickly decided because of the low cost of the room we could skip the very meager offering and eat elsewhere 😍.'

'On the positive side, the bed was comfortable, it was quiet, and the property was well maintained—mostly. On the “needs improvement” side, the hot tub was broken and when we asked a housekeeper about it, she responded “long time”. The breakfast was nicely complete but needs to be replenished in a more timely manner and the tables need to be cleaned more often.'

'We reserved an Executive room through expedia and paid for that, but we were checked in to a small basic room. We were told it was expedias fault. AC makes a big loude noise , so was disturbing sleeping, a small shampoo tube, but was half empty, carpet felt sticky and dirty.'

'The Property is close to downtown and all the shops. It's located near major roads, but you don't hear the traffic. Parking spots were plenty. Breakfast was simple, but really good.'

'Our stay at this property was like staying with family. The owners are very friendly and they made sure we didn't want for anything. The property was newly rehabbed, the beds were comfortable and the property was clean.'

'We chose this place as a last minute one night stay. That being the case it was OK. It had almost equal points on the OK and Good side. On the good side, our room looked to be recently renovated. The paint, fixtures, bed, etc all seemed to have been done recently. There were however a few things that were missing, There was an ironing board but no iron, no hair dryer though it was mentioned as an amenity, and a light bulb was missing from the vanity light fixture. 'Frank and Misti were such generous hosts. We stayed over on the night of the 4th of July so we knew it would be louder than usual but we had the best overlook for watching the fireworks. They even offered us some of their grilled food-hot dog and hamburger. Really, super lovely couple who were flexible in our check-in and check-out times to maximize our vacation stay. I would highly recommend this property.'

'Kelly is wonderful. Very kind and understanding. I was concerned that the neighborood on the dock might be a whoop-it-up loud all-night-long kind of party crowd (and I am VERY boring), but everyone was going-out-of-their way charming and kind. Overall - it was lovely. Highly recommend it. Perfect getaway. '

'Everything about Charlie’s on the Water was perfect. There was abundant supplies of towels and soap. Very comfortable furnishings made for a relaxing visit to Sabula. I highly recommend Charlie’s on the Water.'

'The owners of this Boatel have clearly taken great pains to think of everything you might need for your stay. They are very helpful and communicative which was very appreciated. My girls had never been on this type of boat before and had a blast. There is plenty to do in the area and we found this to be a great landing spot for hiking in the state park or shopping in Bellevue or Savannah. '
