'Didn’t use amenities!! The only strange thing was there wasn’t a House Rules book stating how to navigate the house! There wasn’t any firewood for the wood burning fireplace which would have been nice for Christmas Eve, if we needed to get our own, it would’ve been good to know that?! There were not any exit rules as to bedding, garbage, etc!!!!!!! Otherwise no complaints!'

'This place is rustic, but has potential. No communication from host as to how to get in. I tried emailing the host via VRBO, calling, and texting. After texting I got the code to get in and the wifi. You have to have your own water to drink and cook with. It is well water without a filter for getting useable water. The well water has a potent smell and taste of iron. There aren't any curtains in the back of the house and the roll up curtains in one of the bedrooms aren't great. The furniture is...

'Our Host was prompt with responses to questions. This was most meaningful. The main cabin was charming and lake view was awesome. As a rustic older cabin, it has been lovingly kept up. We were not able to use the quaint boathouse because temps had dropped and it is not heated. The rainy weather kept us inside. However, the spacious living area gave us ample room to hang out and we were close to Grand Rapids and Cohasset to enjoy other entertainment avenues. No regrets. Hope to book again.'

'Loved being out in the country and seeing the stars at night and watching the horses. The unit we stayed in could have been cleaner. Lot of dust and rust and bugs. Online listing says breakfast included, but that was oatmeal and granola bars and with 3 adults staying there for 2 nights, only 4 coffee pods. '

'It was lovely to get a tour from the host and learn about the history of the house as well as the design elements. I’m amazed at the generations that have cared for and improved the space.The space was cozy and made us feel relaxed. Everything was tidy and clean!
