The Lovely Staff of the Monument Hotel
This was my first time visiting the Monument Hotel and it delivered on excellence in every way. The staff were amazing, the food lovely, and the rooms were comfortable and well situated. The hotel is right in the heart of downtown Barcelona near many walkable landmarks and attractions. Beyond the normal high quality accoutrements that you expect in a 5 star hotel, it is the staff and their friendly, helpful and genuine interest in providing their guests with the best possible stay which made this visit worthwhile.

The hotel location is amazing. That being said, I had already stayed at the “Majestic Hotel” and at the “Palace Hotel”, both 5 stars, and unfortunately the “Monument” didn’t measure up. The room, although very modern, was not that large with very little closet space (and I had a Junior Suite!). There is no “bed turndown service” which you would expect in any 5 star hotel. The only plus was the bed, which was incredibly comfortable. • The gym (by the pool area) has 1 treadmill and 2 other machines, and it is as tight a space as you can imagine. The guest bedroom were probably larger than the gym. The worst part was that it did not look clean, and there were no disinfectant wipes or any cleaning cloths to wipe down the machines. • The breakfast area is what saved it. Beautiful space, fresh selection of breads, fruits, yogurts, plus a la carte. And the best croissants I’ve ever had. • We dined at Oria and that was pretty good as well. Service was outstanding. • The bell boys and door men staff were incredibly courteous and pleasant. • Overall, it was a pleasant stay but I would go back to the Majestic Hotel instead.

Perfect Location!
The Monument Hotel is a perfect location for walking, dining and shopping. The entire staff is warm, friendly and eager to facilitate the perfect experience for its guests. We also enjoyed the restaurant as well as the expert bartender in the Harlo lounge. Our only advice is that the room (jr suite) was very small, with very little usable closet space. Unless you smoke I would not recommend the balcony upgrade either. However, we would still stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to our friends and family!

I think it was pricey for what I received. The staff was superb and the location was ideal. But the room itself was so-so in terms of its furnishings. The breakfast/dining roof deck was nice but no real view.

Another wonderful stay in June at this hotel. Different room this time. Again the room was beautiful. You can hear the dustbin being collected but it didn’t bother us. Thank you for fixing the hot bathroom floor that was burning our feet. No idea how it got that hot. Loved the aircon when it was boiling outside. Breakfast was amazing could live off of that permanently! Staff are friendly and helpful it was nice getting to know new ones that we didn’t see on our last trip. Thank you for the recommendations of the Barcelona city tour bus we found that one better than the other tour bus we used in April. See you in September
