We were unable to keep our reservation in Pendleton due to the pass closing right before we got there and it was closed for the night due to weather conditions and accidents on the snowy roadway. We had to backtrack to Baker to find a place to stay, which were a few and far between because of the pass closure. We felt that we had gotten lucky to be able to find a room at all. We got the reservation online for a queen bedroom with a microwave and refrigerator and paid extra for those amenities. When we got there, we asked the desk clerk if we could upgrade to a king sized bed. He said yes, and put us in a different room. When we got to the room, we discovered that it was a queen sized bed, so my husband went back to the office and said that we had mistakenly gotten a room with a queen size bed. The same clerk then said that they donโt have any king size beds in the motel. How weird! Anyway, my husband unloaded our bags and when I joined him, I discovered that the room smelled like dirty sweat socks and there was no refrigerator either, for which we received NO refund for the extra we had paid. The room was pretty much a disaster. The sink barely drained and hot water took forever to come out of the faucet. The bathroom door knob was partly broken and the condition of the whole room was rundown, smelly and dreary. We ended up having to pay for two rooms that night and got only one which was LESS than acceptable. We would never go back and DONโT recommend it! Bad experience!
