Superb quiet location, it’s a very short walk to the little old harbour, where there are many good restaurants to choose from, and just 5 minutes walk from the pretty town of Auray. The owner is extremely helpful and speaks perfect English if that would be useful to you.
The house is delightful, filled with collections of pictures, curios and all kinds of strange and beautiful objects. You will still be finding new things to look at on your last day - just remember to make a mental note where you put your keys and your phone or it could be a few minutes before you find them again. Ideal for two people who want a base to explore the region, the house is compact, very comfortable and a little bit luxurious. There’s also a small paved garden to sit in. The bedroom upstairs is very spacious, with a free-standing bath in the corner. We stayed in the winter and it was lovely and warm, and the log-burning stoves were a bonus but not essential. If you are looking for some unique and interesting experiences in Brittany, then allow this house to be part of the adventure and go with the flow. If, on a practical level, you worry about storage space, (although there was plenty for us and we arrived with a car full of stuff) then take a tip from the owner and hide things in plain sight. Does it have WiFi? Yes. The router is under the goat skull and next to the bowler hat.
