We were arriving after hours and so tried to contact the property to confirm check in instructions. We really struggled to get hold of the hotel, as the phone number on Expedia was out of date (belonged to someone who no longer worked there). We also tried via WhatsApp but no-one replied (even though we could see they were online). As the hotel was about an hour away from the airport, and we had not heard from them, we decided it was safer to find a hotel nearer to the airport with a 24 hour desk. We had hoped the hotel would refund or compensate us in someway for the mistake however, the staff were very rude and wouldn’t admit they had made any mistake. Also the grounds are clearly still under development as it had a very ‘unfinished’ look about it. The in room services also didn’t work as described, couldn’t order room service on the ‘app’, the wifi instructions were wrong etc. The hotel offers a golf buggy service to get around but it often took ages to arrive after requesting it. The resort pitches itself as luxury and relaxing but they are getting a lot of the basics wrong. We found stating here overall really frustrating rather than relaxing. I would recommended staying somewhere nearer to Aswan centre.
