'What a unique and authentic experience. The owner is very welcoming and proud to show you around this 300 year old property. The host is friendly and spends ample time to give advice on what to see and how. The family enjoyed him, and we enjoyed the stay. Large enclosed garden area is great for kids to play or an escape from the hustle and bustle. Parking available on site, although it is tight. Great location with all the downtown locations within walking distance. The best value for money ever'

'A beautifullly restored old house with wood floors and modern features. Good hotel, clean and good position. Ring 15 minutes ahead to organise parking because the parking is not close to the hotel and there is no dedicated place to park, just stop on the curb and a valet will come. Breakfast was really good. The street side can be loud, so if you are sensitive ask for a room on the inside. The staff were friendly and helpful.'

'The hotel is located along Calle Ronda (one of oldest streets in Quito). Perfect location as it is so close to the central park, president’s palace, San Francisco Church, Cathedral, Basilica and many more. The hotel is very quiet even though a lot of restaurants and shows are outside the facility… perfect for relaxation. There’s filtered water dispenser, so you don’t have to worry about being hydrated. Room was big, bed was clean. A beautiful viewpoint is located at the top level with the views...

He made sure I had everything I needed. He even booked a tour for me and another guest in which he took the time to be our guide and driver. Great stay! Thank you Hernan!'

'Fantastic stay at La Basilica Quito. Great location with good security, very friendly owners and staff. English spoken. Very clean and nice rooms, comfortable beds and bathroom with all amenities. Some of the rooms are located in-house, which makes them a bit stuffy due to lack of ventilation, but this is minor. Right in the hart of Old Quito at 5 minutes walk from historic square with cathedral, museums, presidential palace, and also the National Basilica. '

'I arrived very late at night and Lucia welcomed me as if i was coming home to family! She would get up and prepare a fabulous breakfast each day just for me!! Her son, Luis arranged a fun day trip to Cotopoxi for me!!! The location is perfect!! I will never stay anywhere else when i'm in Quito!! ❤️❤️'

'Staff were friendly and genuinely seemed like they wanted us to enjoy our stay, but as soon as I walked in to the bathroom, I saw black mold. I am glad we were only there for about 10 hours. The location was not great, very noisy all night, we barely slept, and did not seem like the safest place to go out at night. There were 3 or 4 locks on the door. We left too early for breakfast. The beds were fairly comfortable. It’s the black mold that did it for us. Gross.'

'Hoewel een kort verblijf van 2 nachten, een prima tijd gehad in het in historische centrum zeer centraal gelegen hotel. Ook van het straatverkeer geen last, mede omdat de straat relatief smal is. Bijzonder was dat die Zondag verplicht binnenblijven was vanwege de census( volkstelling) Uitsluitend militairen en politie op straat. Echter met het fijne hotel en de goede maaltijden was het niet echt rampzalig. Ook was het bijzonder dat het hele land vanaf vrijdagmiddag tot maandagmiddag drooggelegd...

'The hostel was very clean and in a great location. Jhordy and Mathew, the receptionists were very attentive to our needs, guiding us to the best attractions in town. They coordinated tours and taxis making our trip more relaxing. Pilar made delicious breakfast every morning and excelent dinners. The bar was fun and full of life. Watching de FIFA soccer games with people from all over the world 🌎 Liz, the housekeeper was so sweet and made sure that our room and laundry was done in a timely...

'A very comfortable well maintained historic hotel in a perfect location only steps away from independence plaza. The staff are very friendly and super helpful. A tip: get them to organise your airport transfer for US $30 (pay them directly). Breakfast was good with choices.'
